I understand that you’re being kind to him when you say that BD is smarter than us, but I am not willing to concede that point.

he may be talking about Bryson's knowledge of his personal game? I dunno, I am not ready to crown Bryson a genius either. I do like his game though.

I wasn't thinking that deeply about it myself, just having fun and making an observation. :)

Personally I like Bryson, It's fun to watch him play well and it's fun to watch him melt down emotionally when things don't go as planned. And when I say "melt down" I am not being overly critical, he is a young guy, and he can get emotional, I used to be the same way at that age. One thing I can say for sure, he takes his profession seriously, he works hard and he wants to win. He is also a very respectful and professional person when interviewed, he is only hard on himself.

Makes sense.

I think if you have a career path like Bryson a college degree is a waste of time at that point.

Not that it makes it any different but just a post lesson probation ban , not the entire season he could have still played 10 events. IMO he still made the right decision though> @chiva said:

He had his Cobras covered with a mound of lead tape, and he admitted that he had to use a different hand position for his chips. He's got way too much height and spin, and his attempt to flight them down is just making the problem worse. Those of us who play single length clubs understand the problem well. Personally, I carry a standard length SW, and I'm ready to add a standard length GW, as well.

Number one Dave Pelz and I knew this going in. :D But seriously do we have any DATA that suggests that BC ought to expect better results from his wedges? And why do we think that Cobra couldn't get him what he needed with his technique? Question is open to anyone I'm just curious thanks.

We know from personal observation and his own comments that BC has too much spin on his full swing wedges. We’re all speculating on how he’s addressing the issue. Not clear to me why PXG would offer a solution that Cobra could not.

unclear to me as well. The only thing that would make sense is $$$. Does he still have them in play this week?

My speculation is that BC wanted a solution NOW and tinkered with everyone's wedges until he found a lower spin answer. Cobra is now probably working on their version to suit his needs. Just a guess.

Being a few years into one length, I can attest to this. When I was bagging the F7 OLs I had issues with everything above 48 degrees wanting to go the same distance, with loft increments only wanting to spin more. I ended up just switching back to VL for GW/SW. Bryson went PXG for the adjustable weighting. Its why Edel put the adjustable weighting in their one length iron design.

I'm doing something similar. I carry 4-GW in SL with a VL GW and SW. Hence, I've got two gap wedges with approximately the same loft. The SL-GW is a full swing club, while the VL-GW complements my SW and gives me a full variety of partial swings. The same thing happens on the other end of the bag, as I've got a SL 4-iron and a VL 5W with approximately the same loft. It all makes sense if you think about performance rather than loft.

Didnt he have cobra wedges back in the bag for the tour championship? I think he did.

That was my first thought, but I kinda do not see him leaving Cobra for a while. They have gone all in on his one length system and it would be a pretty big blow for him to move on.

Would taking away weight in the sole and adding it higher bring his flight and spin down? Maybe that's what he was doing with the PXG's and their screw holes.

From what I understand higher weight lowers launch but increases spin.
