So, Tiger ....

I almost feel like with a win at the Masters, and having played so much to end last year, he was finally able to breathe again and take some of the do-or-die off each successive start, mentally. Winning the Masters opens up a lot of exemption opportunities and it feels like he was finally "content" after winning at Augusta. His will to compete sort of faded in his celebration that followed and definitely affected his PGA prep. The win, and all that encompasses #15, sort of took the wind out of his sails for the year. I believe the drive to compete will return, but I think #15 really filled Tiger's tank for 2019, nothing left to prove this year, especially at his age.

1 major a year could be a brilliant strategy!

He could have shot 65 in round 2 with literally just better strategy.

It was mostly a very solid round with a dull/tired finish. He can still play at this level on any given day, with many variations of his game. He was playing stiff for round 1 + poor course management + grind. Simply got way too far back, like MANY other YOUNGER and FITTER players too. It happens!

He won the Tour Championship and nearly the FedEx Cup in 2018 and won the Masters in 2019 so Tiger is doing just fine.

So a 43 year old Tiger will never play like the 33 or 23 yo Tiger just like any 43 yo athlete.

Just to put things into perspective......within the last twelve months Tiger Woods has contended in last years Open Championship, won the Tour Championship and won the Masters. Brooks Keopka is the only player to have a better last 12 months and he's the #1 player in the world......Hope that I talked you off the ledge...LOL! Woods will be just fine for the Playoffs.

I believe the new normal for Tiger Woods is that he will focus his golf season primarily for the majors meaning he's pretty much only going to play in the majors. He will continue to play the Masters, PGA and Open Championship until he hangs up his competitive game. He will play the US Open as long as he is exempt. I seriously doubt he will ever try sectional regional/qualification ..... no way. Woods' years of 15-18 tournaments a season are over. He may play in 7-9 from this point forward, maybe up to 11-12 if he's motivated to get into the FedEx Cup playoffs. He'll play a handful of other events, The Memorial, maybe Arnold Palmer's tournament. But not much else.

Could Woods win more tournaments, let alone majors. Certainly. However, his game would have to be firing on all cylinders. Will he be mentally prepared in terms of tournament play, time will tell. This season after The Masters he didn't seem mentally prepared at all and his physical game wasn't too consistent. Then again Woods is one of the all time great champions so I wouldn't count him out.

To be clear, we are talking about since the masters win. Beginning of this season he was playing way more tournaments leading up to masters, since then he has pretty much hung up the clubs. It’s as simple as that.

To be clear, you are talking about since the masters.....I'm talking about his last year and the fact that he's doing just fine and there is no need to panic over his ineptitude after the Masters….Just to be clear!
