I didn't get to see much of JB Holmes in the back 9 but was shocked when I saw his scorecard shooting a 46(+11)...what happened??

Thought about that too. He just gave notice to everyone how to handle him in match play and /or final group on Sunday.

Watch JB Holmes plum bob 1-3ft putts, your blood wouldnt boil???!

He's a criminal slow player. Its well known on tour amongst players even if its not voiced on the forums much. He gets characterized as deliberate while Cantlay/others are slow aka worst people in golf lol.

Instead of a punishment or warning, he got +16 on the card. It'll do.

Why should they? Professional golf is a money making TV endeavor masquerading as a 501c3.

Knowledge of the Rules is part of the applied skill set which a player must use to play competitive golf.

Something about kicking a man while he is down.

I will say one thing though...to wait like he did on the first tee only to pull out a 3 iron and jack it OB was just cringe worthy.

Do you ever think his surgery on his brain may be causing some of his thinking processes? I like Koepka but he's got to get use to others pace of play. Every great golf does. Didn't hear Lowrey complaining yesterday? Wasn't he playing with JB? You're haters and Koepka is your man, he can do no wrong. You all got your heads so far up your arses you can see the back of you teeth.

Two very good points here. I have been wondering about the surgery for a long time, but never heard anyone else mention it. No one seemed to complain about his pace of play before.

For anyone in the “Brooks has to adjust to slow play” camp, I ask “why?” What good reason is there that everyone else needs to adjust to the pace of the slower players instead of making the sloths hurry the heck up? Slow play sucks, period, and I’m not really sure what argument can be made against playing at a reasonable pace.

Actually, the PGA Tour does have a 40-second rule, which they are allowed to establish under USGA Rule 6-7.

The PGA explains the rule thusly:

The PGA TOUR rules for pace of play includes the 40-second time limit, but also allows an extra 20 seconds (for a total of 60 seconds) under the following circumstances:

> The first player to play a stroke on a par-3 hole

> The first player to play a second stroke on a par-4 or par-5 hole

> The first player to play a third stroke on a par-5 hole

> The first player to play around the putting green

> The first player to play on a putting green

Under both sets of guidelines, the timing of a stroke on the putting green begins after a player has been allowed a reasonable amount of time to mark, lift, clean and replace his ball, repair his ball mark and other ball marks on his line of putt and remove loose impediments on his line of putt.

seriously ... koepka didn't say it made him play poorly ... he's just pointing out that, yes, holmes is a SLOW player ... and he is a slow player ... don't understand why people are piling on bk here for being one of the few guys to call out slow play, esp when there is so much complaining about slow play in general, esp on this forum ... it ain't gonna change if no one calls out the guilty ...

Because every generation had slow players that the greats have overcome. Not saying slow play isn’t a problem but

1) JB sucked today

2) The group was not behind.

3) JB may have a medical condition that can cause difficulty in his focus.

Pace of play is basically determined by the group in front of you. If you're pushing them then you might as well slow it down just a bit just as you need to pick up the pace if you're falling behind.

More times than not... folks that are complaining about slow play are looking for an excuse for their own poor play. I'm anything but a slow pace guy but how do we know that JB's game isn't the game that suffered from watching BK pointing to his non existent watch every time he went by an official. It can go both ways.

> Oh I know that. And even agree. But. I know that given the circumstances , If say Rahm or Sergio said “ I could have won today if JB wasn’t holding up the world “ this place would have imploded on him. “ whiner “ this and that . Brooks said pretty much the same just now in so many words and is being heralded for it. It’s cool. I just notice the double standard.

Maybe that's because Sergio(and less so Rahm) has a documented history of acting like a petulant child that can't take responsibility for their play and Brooks doesn't?

The whole problem is the news today should be on Lowry not what Koepka said.

He said he was trying to be respectful and not disturb his partners. That's why he wouldn't start anything until it was his turn. So one day Jack got called on that by some head of the tour and he adjusted. Maybe that's all JB needs?

NicKlaus was slow all the way through his career. I hated watching him play because of it. Good for Brooks.
