My Spider X

Just got mine yesterday! Coming from a micro hinge insert and actually really like the harder feel so far. The only issue is they put a blue grip on it which, as you could probably guess, is not what I ordered...

FYI - for all of those interested in the insert deal, check out Chris Trott's instagram post from yesterday....breaks it all down. And, seeing as he lives in the Tour Van, pretty sure it can be taken as the gospel!

For those who have their myspiderx for a while, how is the painting holding up? I remember the spider tour were horrible after a few month of use. Want to take the plunge but i am afraid the paint wont hold well...

I've had an all black MySpider X for about 2 months now and have had zero issues. Looks brand new still. I didn't have any issues with a Spider Tour that I used for 2 years either.

I've had mine for about a month and haven't had any issues. Between putting in the basement putting mat and playing/practice 3-4 times a week, it gets used daily.

Anyway to order one with a weight of around 370g? It seems like with the weights from taylormade's website, the heaviest you can get is 363g.

I've tried both yesterday and bought a Spider Tour. Not only is it significantly cheaper, but I also preferred the weight of the Spider Tour. The X felt a bit clumsy short putts.

I need to spend an hour or so on the practice putting green testing both of them side by side..... But thats so boring and it makes my back hurt

I have the Spider Tour Black, but slightly prefer the look and insert feel of the Spider X. Performance seems similar for me.

I have the Spider Tour Black as well. Fortunately(?) for me, at my local PGATSS they have the exact same putter so I can practice with both the Spider-X and the Tour Black side-by-side.

 

I hit them side-by-side almost daily and they are so close it's almost impossible to pick a winner but I think the Tour Black is slightly better. I putt with the single bend Spider-X and occasionally just slightly roll the toe over and pull the putt.

 

Other than that they're pretty much the same. Distance control is so good with this face (the white surlyn even in the "X") it's amazing.
