That picture is of the Epic Forged line, not the Rogue replacement. The Epic line is $400 CAD per head and is again targeted at the PXG, XXIO, Miura, Honma, and Epon price point/client. I have no new information to report but it is likely that a cast, players distance iron will be in the works for late Fall 2019 or early 2020. They have had such a model since the X-14 Pro Series, I don't know why they would stop now. Just because you are a good player doesn't necessarily mean you can afford Apex or don't want a little bit of extra help. Callaway has now fully stuck with a "sell out, not off" policy since the release of the Fusion/Epic that is working well for them. I suspect we will see price reductions through the late summer on the Rogue line of irons, MD4 wedges, and a move to sell reduction on any remaining Rogue woods to make way for a new cast Players and GI iron, wedges, and accompanying set of woods to match. While the Epic Flash line will remain at full price probably until late winter or early spring where they have a nominal price drop (as they did with GBB, Epic, and Fusion before). Just speculation but following Callaway cycles over the last few years it would fit.

That doesn’t really bother me that much to be honest. I used to be the purist that thought all Ps had to be 48 or more. I got over that when I went from blades to JPX pros. Now I realize that launch and spin are the only real things that matter.

 

Personally, I hit the ball with too much spin. The Epic Forged looks to take spin of the ball at a higher launch. They might be able to do great things for my launch conditions. I was blown away by TXG review and the distance consistency too. I’ve struggled to find a low spin hybrid. These things look like hybrid ball speeds with iron spin and control.

 

I’m totally fine with a 2 iron that says 4 on the bottom if launch and spin are good! If the price was more reasonable I’d might have a set on order.
