Mixing wedges?

Here's my situation:

 

Bought a Glide 2.0 stealth 52 SS and 58 ES from my local Vans to take advantage of the discount with the 3.0's coming out. They had the 52 in store, but had to source the 58 ES from another store in a different state (they confirmed it was in stock and going to ship). Problem is, it's 3 weeks later and the 58 never showed up. They said they are going to talk to Ping to try and source another one. But from what I've been hearing from on here, Ping doesn't have any more 2.0 58 ES's on hand.

 

Looking online at other stores and eBay, it looks like it's going to be difficult to source a new Glide 2.0 Stealth 58 ES if Van's and Ping can't come through.

 

If they can't come through, this leaves me with getting a Ping Glide 3.0, which has a different head shape (in the ES grind), different material, different shaft (ZZ-115 vs AWT 2.0), different finish etc, or a completely different wedge from a different company (no clue what). I'm not stoked on the head shape of the new Glide 3.0 with the ES/"eye" grind, nor with playing a different shaft, etc.

 

Maybe it's a big deal, maybe I'm just overthinking it and making a mountain out of a molehill. Needless to say I'm a bit annoyed, I really wanted a matching set. How much would playing a different wedge between a 52 and a 58 bother any of you guys?

Mixing heads is not a big deal. But the shafts may be a problem. If they are getting you a new Glide 3.0, they should be able to order it with the AWT 2.0 shaft.

I have a mixed bag of clevelands, my club ocd wants all rtx4s but the older wedges still perform and grooves still sharp. At the end of the day no one will really know, or care except you.

Fact is you were mixing grinds anyway, the shape of the clubs are different as well. I’ve played both and I’ve mixed them with Vokeys and the stock G U wedge. Whatever works.

I have 50* MD3 with 95gr F4 Recoil shaft, 54* RTX 4 with S400, and a 60* Vokey with a wedge flex shaft in it. Pretty jacked up but have hit a lot of good shots with each wedge and having a hard time pulling any of them out of the bag to match up.

I have 3 different wedges although the Glide and Glide 2.0 are very similar I don't have an issue with them and hitting shots. But on mine all the shafts are similar so I'd try to get yous matched up if you can.

Same shaft in all wedges but a variety of brands and models.

Up until recently, my 50* and 55* CBXs had stock DG 115s in them, while I still played a old TM xFT wedge in my 59* with a KBS HI-REV 1.0 shaft in it. I pulled the KBS shafts from my other 2 TMs and put them into my CBXs.

 

So all now have the same shafts.

My 52/58 are different clubs and it doesn't bother me. I would say shoot for the same shaft you have in your 52, but you could even check ebay for a good condition 58ES, there should be some in decent condition out there

Appreciate the comments, doesn't sound like something to get too worked up about. Worst come to worst (if you want to call it that), I'll get the latest generation Ping and match shafts.

 

Still waiting to hear back from Vans on what they are going to do.

Get a Vokey jet black. That’s what I have for my 60° They actually look and play very similar.

Certainly not out of the question, I do really like Vokeys.

To me if you find the best club in each slot that works for you get it. You carry 3 wedges from 3 manufacturers do it, if it makes you confident. Shoot carry 14 clubs that make you feel that way.
