2019 The Evian Championship Jul 25 - 28

ANA Inspiration is a joke as a major; paltry purse aside, it's a poor cousin to Augusta National Women's Amateur Championship.

We all know nobody can compete with Augusta National; but at least put out a fight with $10.0 million purse or something.

The only thing it has is tradition; but tradition without substance is nothing.

More on par 5 #18 and par 4 #13 (was par 5 last year):

"The par-5 13th, one of the easiest holes last year, will now play as a par 4, keeping the par at 71. Last year the 13th played anywhere from 480 yards to 503. This year the two tee possibilities are 437 and 409."

When is Laura Davies going to realise she is not competitive any more and relinquish her right to to play in favour of allowing someone else more deserving into the field? Perhaps they should be allowed to nominate a worthy substitute....she has missed the cut in every tournament so far this year...I can't remember the last time she won or was even in contention!

Blasphemy!! Just kidding, it has been a tough year for Dame Laura, she barely had a top 10 at the Senior Women's Open. She recognizes it's her putting. Although, this year Fairways have not been as consistent as in the past. I will say over the last 5 or 6 years just when I think she should retire she has a decent result. I honestly think she believes she can still win. And it's not lie she relies on Sponsor's exemptions. She's earned entry into every event this year on her own merit.

When you earn the right to play, under the rules, you get to choose whether to play or not. The rules decide who is worthy. She's had her moments in the last few years, but faded out of contention - like many up and coming golfers in fact.

No, each of the two segments each day will be live coverage. I believe there is also a broadcast later in the day (not shown) that would appear to be a replay.

Oh, awesome!

I wasn't sure because my DVR appeared to want to skip over the second window as if it were a repeat.

Thanks to the founding fathers of Evian Championship"

"Riboud and Bungert have set a standard of excellence in terms of prize money, player amenities and tournament presentation that was way ahead of its time in the women’s game. Evian led the pursuit for higher pay for women, inspiring other tournaments to fatten their purses. This year’s prize pool is $4.1 million."

Forty-one years old isn't too old; Cristie Kerr has changed her swing coach:

" Cristie Kerr can hear the Solheim Cup clock ticking. Right now, the 41-year-old Kerr is on the outside looking in, an unusual spot for the American with 20 LPGA titles.

After another tough week of ball-striking in Midland, Mich., Kerr parted ways with swing coach Bryan Lebedevitch.

“It’s nobody’s fault,” said Kerr. “Just different schools of thought with teaching. I had a lot of success with Bryan over the years. You know, we tried again. It just didn’t work.”

Wow, Lydia +7 after 15 holes, including a triple on the 12th. 'Didn't see that coming.

Jasmine +5 after 16 holes. What a difference a week makes.

The course is playing tough. The median score is over par, and only 29 players are under par.

I'm surprised at the number of very good rounds being posted. I thought some of the greens may be much harder to get to and getting up and down would be more difficult if you had bad angles (vs. when it was soft). But I just looked at some of the past winning scores pre-2013 and nothing seems much different (don't know if they've made changes to the course over the years though).

I hope someone went long Paula Creamer at 150:1.

Interesting that the best women's odds were 14:1. I know there is a lot of fairly equal talent out there right now. Maybe it's just more rational then the best men's odds which usually get pushed down to single digits-to-one (likely more money being bet and a handful of very popular players to bet on).

I'm more into picking my event winner after round 2 or round 3 if I see value or opportunity. I nailed Lucky Six at the US Open after round 3 at 5:1 cause I thought everybody ahead of her would fall apart on Sunday and it was a good call. I rarely hit a pre-tournament pick as you can tell by my weekly picks here lol. I'm more into daily match ups or tournament matchups, but most sites don't do the daily matchups for the LPGA

Yeah, what's gotten into Paula lately? It seems the Solheim Cup seems to motivate her for a stretch. Inbee doesn't seem to be ready to ride off into the sunset either.

The course reminds me of TPC Sawgrass. One can score if one stays in position, but it can kick you in the a-- if not. Similar to Sawgrass, it seems all types of players can compete here.
