Thank you to TaylorMade and GolfWRX I'm glad I was chosen to pick and create my own custom Hi-Toe wedge. I'm very excited to get it and test it out. The process of creating the wedge was so easy I was able to do it right from my phone. Here's what my wedge will look like when I receive it.

Pleasant surprise this morning in my FedEx delivery at work! Kudos to TM for expressing this shipment. I’ll be getting in some practice today after work and doing some testing. This week is a tournament prep for me for this weekend so I will be putting this through the ringer today thru Thursday. I did get the highest lost available (58*) in lefty and I plan on bending mine to 59 or 60 so I can directly compare to my current go-to wedge

This is my first hi toe wedge... first thoughts after about 18-20 shots with it: very balanced feeling throughout the swing. It definitely is a little lighter feeling that my Vokey but it is manageable and I felt like I was able to hit a wide variety of shots with confidence right out of the box. I was hitting half and 3/4 shots ranging 50-90 yards. Trajectory is quite easy to control and the one shot I was most interested in seeing (low flighted with a lot of spin) was about as good as any wedge I’ve ever tested. I was not able to have it bent weak yet so it was flying slightly further than I am used to. BTW I am comparing this to my 60 D Vokey SM7 so I will need to evaluate that low flighted wedge shot again since I may have been seeing such a difference due to the lower loft. I thought the shape of this would bother me but I actually like it. So far, I could see myself potentially trying a whole set of these depending on the lefty lofts available.

Tomorrow is a short game practice day so I will be updating again once I hit some chips, pitches and flops etc. I am looking forward to seeing how the sole interacts with the turf around the greens and how it handles thick rough lies. If anyone has any questions I’d be happy to share my opinion.

My HI-TOE came in today! Just posting a quick pick as I’ve been swamped the past few days with moving but with a 4 day weekend up ahead I’ll be posting more pics and a review once I get some time in with it. So far I love the look of it though! I went with a clean look in raw finish and am very pleased with it. Will post more soon!

I went to the short game green yesterday and hit my HiToe about 100 times with a variety of shots in direct comparison to my Vokey SM7 D grind. Switched clubs every 5 balls to a variety of targets. I was quite happy with the versatility of this wedge on any lie. Deep rough is where this wedge really shines as it seemed to cut through to the bottom 24yqwy8dt11z.jpeg

a little easier than the Vokey. One shot I was looking most forward to was the 35-40 yard low spinner however, my SM7 outperformed the HiToe here. I don’t know what the reasoning is but my SM7 had a lot more stopping power on identically struck shots. I [could] generate that missing spin with the HiToe but I had to alter my technique and it lead to some mishits. I was surprised seeing that my SM7 is a year old now and the grooves are more broken in. Outside of that it feels unbelievably good and once I adjusted to the extra rollout i could group my pitches and chips extremely well.

** I am extremely interested in trying one of these in a lower loft now that I have hit one **

This is my first impression- I will be tinkering more and updating as I go. As always, if there are any questions I am happy to share my opinion

Got my wedge on Friday but haven't had a lot of time to try it out, so it's been sitting in the corner of the room tempting me. I had a little time today so I quickly went to the range and hit around 15-20 chip shots with it just so I could get an idea of what it is like.

My initial impressions were, I love the way the wedge turned out as far as looks. I like the way the wedge looks at address and the high toe section and full face grooves inspire confidence. With that being said, in the limited sample size I had the wedge reacted the way I expected. Shots sounded crisp off of the face and I was getting reasonable spin and roll from the shots I was hitting. One place I was particularly impressed was with the wedge's ability to sit flush with the ground on flop shots. I opened the face all the way up for a couple shots just to see if the 10 degrees of bounce would present any problems when hitting a flop shot and I had no issues popping the ball up into the air the 3 or 4 shots I hit like this.

To make a long story short, I really enjoyed my few shots with the wedge and I look forward to putting it through the fully gauntlet in the next week or two.

REVIEW TIME

I didn't go to the range with it after all, I went straight to the course. 2 rounds done with it so far, here are my impressions:

- First off, the look at address is off the chart. The black finish not reflecting the sun is a massive plus, and I'm really happy with it. The groove going all the way up the face makes the club look bigger, and I like that very much. I feel like I can't miss a shot with it.

- Secondly, the feel. The wedge feels buttery. It feels good. You feel the good contact on a full wedge shot, and you feel the clipping of the ball of pitch and chip shots. Compared to the Tour Preferred ATV I was gaming before, it's night and day. The sound at impact is just perfect too.

- Thirdly, the performance. Yeah that part was my fault. Going straight to the course without practicing a bit with it before bit me in the ass on the first few shots. My first full shot wedge (around 95 yards) spun back a good ten feet. My first pitch from around 45 yards on a par 5 took one hop and then stopped, about 10-12 feet short of the flag. It took me a full round to get full control of it, but it was worth it.

All and all, I'm more than satisfied with it. I can't say thank you enough to GolfWRX and TaylorMade for this great club.

Got mine earlier this week. Just took it the chipping green. I will post more after I have a chance to hit full shots and play. But these are my initial impressions:

-I was struck by the weight. It feels heavy. Heavier than my vokey. I like that, feels solid.

-Everything about this club looks and feels premium. It’s nice.

-I never thought I would like the Hi-toe, but in person it looks fine. It is not too extreme looking.

-it’s going to take some getting used to but it has a nice feel to it. I think it will be my go-to around the greens once I get used to it

-right now I would still choose my Vokey because I just have so many hours of practice with it that I know how to use it. We’ll see if this takes over. Have to put in the time and will report back.

Thanks again TaylorMade and GolfWRX.

I love the customization you can do but hate the lack of the Nippon wedge shaft choice. If they offered that I would be getting one in black.

After playing 3 rounds and taking it to a couple range sessions I can honestly say I am in love with this wedge.

First off the feel. The feel is great. It's nice and solid but doesn't come off as hard and clunky. The sound is great off of full shots and little chips around the green.

Second is the look. Like a few others have said, the black finish was a great choice and the wedge does not have any glare when put down in the sun. Also the high toe section has been giving me lots of confidence to hit shots with it out of the rough. I feel that even if the ball is sitting up slightly I don't have as much of a chance to slide right underneath and come up way short, so I've been able to attack the ball with it.

Last is the performance. This wedge has been a great performer for me the last few rounds. Plenty of spin off of full and chip shots. The milled sole really glides through the grass with ease. Making the wedge very easy to use.

A great all around wedge that I couldn't be more happy with. I'm very lucky to have been given the opportunity to win one of these and I want to say thank you again to GolfWRX and TaylorMade.
