He's been super impressive. 6 straight made cuts, 3 top 4s in a row with another chance to win going into the final hole.

Morikawa was different class today. Another youngster coming to the main Tour without any fear and absolutely taking courses apart. He didn't have the default overreaction of "OMG HE HITS IT 300 yards HE'S THE NEXT TIGER!" that some trot out every time a rookie plays well in their initial events.

This guy however has backed up his potential, is under the radar and not distracted by the white noise.

How he performs over the end of season play-offs will be interesting to see.

Having the FedEX Playoffs start sooner means the college guys won't be able to make the tour without going through the Korn Ferry Tour.

Rip that statement up, we've got TWO of them.

Collin Morikawa moves up to #90 in the OWGR. (Wolff should be #123)

He will move to #46 in the Fed EX Cup standings. (Wolff is #72)

IN SIX PRO STARTS!

He makes the PGA, TPC and Tournament of Champions.

He gets a two year exemption.

"The gates are open."

He was assured of having his 2019-2020 card coming into today. This means he's exempt for the 2020-21 season as well.

The big part of the win is that he gets all his FedEX Cup points and will be in the FedEx Cup Playoffs in two weeks.

T7th is a big result for Charlie Danielson. His non member points total will go up to 100 which is just inside the cutline for the top #200 to get into the Korn Ferry Playoffs. (#197 right next to Vijay Singh) A top 10 finish puts him into the field in Greensboro for the regular season finale as well.

Robert Streb and Sebastian Munoz move into the Top 125

John Daly finished 69th

Sepp Straka finished 12th and moved up ten spots in the FedEx 119 to 109, will finish top 125. Similarly Martin Laird finished T7 and moved up 9 spots in the FedEx from 124 to 115, should be good for top 125.

Back week for Martin Trainer, he dropped from 123 to 127.

And then Morikawa got added to the official points list and dropped him to #128.

Yeah, big deal for Charlie. On the broadcast, the announcers said he had to take a drop for an unplayable when his tee shot went into the "native area", so it looked like a double bogey on the last which would have cost him 3 points and knocked him down to 12th (?). They never explained it, but it looks like he ended up not having that penalty stroke, which may just have changed his career path.

This course is a lot of fun. Lots of cool mountain visuals, the keep it way too soft most of the time and dry it out a bit for this week so that the tour guys do not get mud balls on every shot.
