Short review - hot weather shorts and shirts

Got tired of suffocating in my cheap golf shirts and the dreaded butt sweat issue with normal shorts.

Live in a hot/humid summer climate.

Got 2 pairs of LinkSoul Solid Boardwalker shorts. Was able to try them on in a local shop. I normally wear 34 waist, these are cut just a hair snug, so 34 was just a bit too tight, 36 too loose. They did not have size 35 in the store.

I also tried on the shorts version that is actually perforated (not sure of the name), thought that would work well in hot weather - but I did not care for how they looked as they were really perforated. Stuck with the standard Boardwalkers.

Ordered online for about $50-$55 ish ($75 per pair is crazy)

Size 35 fitment is perfect (for my normal size 34)

Wore them on a very hot humid day of golfing - they were very comfortable and cool, no tremendous butt sweat, no chafing. Pockets and style were great. Maybe only minor complaint would be that is it a bit more sticky than other golf shorts when reaching in and out of pocket for tees, coin, divot repair tool. Maybe a slicker pocket lining would help. The small pocket to hold a ball mark makes sense, but I found myself not using it.

Overall, I would highly recommend when you find them on sale. Great for hot humid weather!

 

Next was a few Adidas ClimaCool golf shirts. XL was true to size. Great fit and finish. Affirmative on keeping me cool during a hot and humid round. Again, on sale ($40-$50 ea) vs full retail makes these approachable. Followed up with an order for 2 more, but instead of Climacool - ordered Ultimate, seems to have a similar material makeup.

ClimaCool = 88% Polyester / 12% Elastine

Ultimate = 90% Polyester / 10% Elastine

Thanks for the review. I've found some of the polyester shorts to "show" a little too much when I sweat. For me, nylon blend seems to hide a little more sweat, but maybe doesn't dry as fast? I really like the adidas adicross 5 pocket (mostly nylon) and some of the under armour shorts that are a nylon/poly blend. Some of the boardwalker or TM shorts with cotton/poly blend make me uneasy unless it's just around the house kinda of wear.

I've had surprisingly good results with Wrangler performance shorts from Walmart. I wasn't expecting much, but they are super cheap ($17) comfortable, dry quickly, and lightweight but durable. I've bought about 5 different colors over the last 2 years. They have become my go-to hot/humid golf shorts.

Bonobos shorts come in a 35 with an 8" or 10" inseam. I usually wear a 34 but do wear a 35 in Bonobos. Adidas usually run a tad larger, so I usually wear a 34 in those and there is still some room.

I picked up a pair of those shirts for $11 and another Hogan shirt for $18 at my local Wally. Good stuff!

I wear Greg norman, haggar, Adidas and under armour shorts. They are great in hot weather and keeping you dry. I also make sure I wear the right undies also. All polos are Adidas, ua, Greg norman and Nike which keep me dry. I also put a good undershirt on to keep me dry.

I have Adidas ClimaCool and Lululemon Kahuna shorts. Both are comfy and they dry fast.

I also love the LS boardwalker shorts. I think I have like 6 pairs now. I also wear 35 and it is hard to find, so I mostly wear the 36's and keep them up with a belt.

 

I've found the side pocket works pretty well for holding sunglasses when I wear them off the course. I just wish they had some more color options, because I would def buy more!

Adidas Climachill (not climacool) are really nice lightweight shirts, and cut a bit slimmer for those of us who prefer that fit.

 

Bonobos Highland Lightweight shorts for really hot days. I actually prefer the normal weight shorts for typical use but the lightweight shorts are great for hot weather. And again, slimmer of you choose that type when ordering. Best of all if you shop these in February, they have their clearance sale and you can get the shorts (and pants) for less than $25/pair. They are a deal at twice that.
