USKG Worlds Pinehurst Accommodations

Recommended Posts

Anyone have any tips or recommendations on where you have stayed - pros & cons?

We have stayed at Pine Needles the last two years as my son has played at Mid Pines ( Boys 7,8). Directly across street so excellent location. Was very nice to skip the crowd and warm up at Pine Needles then catch the shuttle across the street. Pine Needles has pool, a great included breakfast buffet, and you can hit balls, chip, putt all you want. If we go next year my son will be on Pinehurst 1, so thinking somewhere closer to the PH village/clubhouse would be better. Has anyone rented one of those condo's along courses # 3 and #5? Pool access is a must with the whole family coming. Carolina Hotel too expensive for a week. Thanks.

I own a condo at Talamore, and I know many people will stay in those condos for US Kids. We have a full kitchen, 2 bedrooms and 2 baths, total of about 1400 square feet, access to the pool, and buffet breakfast at the Talamore clubhouse. Its closer to Mid Pines and Pine Needles than it is to the Pinehurst clubhouse, but its still only a 10 minute ride or less.

We looked at the condos near #3 and #5 before we bought ours. They're a bit smaller, maybe 800-900 sf for the 2 BR units. I can't address pool access, I just don't know.

Whatever you decide, have fun. We've been in town once or twice at the same time as the USK event, and its a lot of fun seeing all of the young people playing.

If you’re playing on #1 then rent a condo on one of the Pinehurst courses. Legacy Golf packages has a number of them and it’s very economical and convenient

We rented one off of number 5 we could have walked to the main resort if we had wanted to. There are tons of stuff out there on numerous sites. I wouldn't go directly from the resort condos as those can be quite expensive.

How many will be going in your group? We've traveled with 8 each year. For a couple of the years we rented the condo on the course and got the cheapest room we could at The Manor. By doing this we got access to the pool at the Carolina and 3 free breakfast's at the Carolina each day. Our total cost all in for both units was like $2,400 for the week. It was also convenient for early morning tee times to have player and caddie stay at The Manor to avoid waking up the entire group at 5:30 in the morning and to allow player and caddie to get to bed early on those occasions.
