Well I guess I consider a true players cb like the SC, titleist cb, taylormade p750 and 770 were TRUE cavity backs with great looks adress. I feel like the 760 is a players distance iron, without the foam and the weird badging I feel like it would have been a great compromise between the 770 and 750.

The 760 was never intended to hit the ball far, so I don't think it's fair to call it a players distance iron. It's still a true players CB. The inclusion of technology into the iron doesn't kick it out of that category.

That being said, I find the 760 to be a weird club. I understand what TaylorMade was trying to do in positioning it between the 730 and 790, and on paper I thought it was going to be a great club for me and many others, but in practice I found it tried to be an iron that tried to do too many things rather than just do one thing really well. It leaned a little more towards the 790 than the 730 and that was the problem for me and many other better players. They launch too high.

I'm hoping the lack of 760 adoption on Tour will lead TaylorMade back to something that's more similar to the 750 and 770. None of TaylorMade's marquee players are using 760s except for Day--and his don't count because they're one-offs built to match his old RSi TP--plus Rahm and Wolff will eventually need something to replace their 750s. TaylorMade won't want them playing old irons forever.

I wouldn't say they are a distance iron at all. TM p760 gave me nearly identical numbers as JPX 919 Tours, Apex Pro, and AP2. Think some are like 1 deg stronger in loft comparing to the others and still weren't going farther. None of these I would say are distance irons. Maybe comparing to MB's or CB's that are 2 deg weaker in most sets compared to p760 you might think that?

You would think so. But I feel like we would be hearing some buzz about the Tmag staff guys on tour using some new irons. I honestly hope they roll the 760 iron until next fall, and release the new woods in Feb. just ordered the new 790 driving iron and MG2 wedges so looking forward to that.

I don't agree. The P700 series irons have been on two season cycles so far, so I don't see a reason to expect another iron to be released in the near future. The only exception I can foresee would be if they release a successor to the P750, but I don't think anyone has heard any rumors to that effect.

I don't have any inside info, but I just really feel they should and will come out with a iron to replace the 750. As already stated there are to many staffers, big name and small and a few of the top Jr amateur's in the world game 750's and have not switched to the 760 even with the support from TM Tour Van and such. I gamed the 760's for a bit, but was just not a fan with the added offset in the higher irons and I would have an occasional flyer type shot with them off a perfect lie. A true CB with a little help over the 730's is a smart move for TM imho.

That was my point. 750 is due for a refresh

I may be wrong but the 760 was the refresh for the 750.

Strictly speaking, the 750 isn't due for a refresh. The 760 replaced the 750 and the 770.

It's just a question of tour usage, which I'm sure was your point. The 760 was never going to kick the 750 out of the bags of some of the big name staffers, so one would think we might eventually see something released that's in the same category as the 750. I doubt TaylorMade wants Wolff's WITB to keep saying 750 in perpetuity.

Personally, I'd be fine if they just brought the 750 back into the lineup officially and left it for years. It's that good.
