I DVR’d it and could not believe how much fast forwarding there was today. I don’t generally hate CBS coverage as much as the average Wrx’er, but today was exceptionally poor. Come back from commercials, show two shots and listen to Amanda interview Danny Willett and then another commercial break is not my idea of a good time.

Said the same thing today. You cant even follow what's going on. They'll show a putt from Rory for example and the next shot you'll see from him is a putt on the next hole. I dont like when they hone in on a few players but they show so few shots that they almost have to.

That’s just a license for more commercials. I agree. Streaming coverage is way better. If the covered groups include people you want to see.

Dan Hicks is no bargain. I'm convinced that guy has a sympathetic relative sitting high up on the food chain at NBC.

I've watch the least amount of golf ever this year. Commercial overload is 100% of that reason. It's just not watchable.

Same here. There was a time when I could sit down and watch golf for 2-3 hours and enjoy every minute, but now I can't get through an hour.

 

Some of it is commercial, but some is the way its covered and the commentary. It just doesn't seem to be as interesting anymore. Sad, really.

Exactly. They just don't show enough actual golf. I don't care about Amanda's interviews or what the Tournament sponsor CEO is pandering in the booth.

If you're listening to an announcer you can't stand it's your own fault. I refuse to believe there's anybody that doesn't have a mute button. No, it shouldn't have to be that way but I don't think there's been an announcer, any announcer that someone hasn't complained about.

Between commercials, only 3-6 players shown on weekends and commentator monologues I'd have to be very interested in either the course or guys in contention to watch more than an hour of what they call "coverage"

Who on earth listens to golf silent ? For Pete’s sake the sound of the ball leaving the clubface and landing etc are an integral part of the action and enjoyment.

You aren't paying for that channel, it's a free channel you could get without direct tv, Comcast or whatever you use.

Figured he was talking about NBC / cbs, just need an antenna. Kind of moot point though, even the channels you do buy with subscription have commercials
