There is no way you can make it more forgiving since the COG is placed forward near the face for low spin and potentially more distance with a high launch, but sacrifices forgiveness as a trade off. Since you can't change the COG you can spread the weights to its extreme left and right to reduce twisting.

10.5 deg Titleist 905R with stock UST Proforce V2 Shaft (Stiff flex)
Titleist 990 (3-PW) with stock Dynamic Gold in S300
Taylormade V-Steel 5W & 3W with Grafalloy Prolaunch Red shafts (Regular Flex)
2011 Adams Tom Watson signature wedges in 52 and 56 degrees with stock steel shafts (Player's Grind)
Rife Island Series Aruba Blade Putter

"Loft for loft, length for length, and shaft for shaft, the ball will go the same distance when hit on the sweet spot regardless how old the iron."

That will only effect the consistency / accuracy (but not forgiveness) if you are sensitive to the face angle changes. Some are, some are not - everyone is a bit different. So only way to find that out is to play around with it. Try it at the lowest setting for a few balls, then try it at the highest setting and see of there is any change to the shot shape. Or even if it looks better to you at address.

But the real key to forgiveness and consistency is the location and consistency of the face impact. Get some foot powder spray and see how well you do. Typically the factors that influence that the most (or can help with that the most) is the combination of playing length, shaft weight and swing weight.

Here is a good DIY tutorial on how to find the best combination of those for you and your swing:

I have this driver. I personally lofted all the way up and leave the weights dead in the middle. For me, I'm not concerned about over cutting or hooking the ball. I needed the extra height, so I raised the loft on mine. After using this driver for about two seasons now, I'm starting to think I could benefit from a driver with the weights in the rear rather than the front. This is an assumption though, so getting fit for a driver would probably be beneficial in my case and possibly yours.

More weight in the rear and therefor a higher MOI could certainly help but only if the face impact is inconsistent. And if it is inconsistent, then the problem can just as easily carry over to other heads as well. The quality and location of the face impact will still be VERY important even with a different and more forgiving head. It may cut down of the severity of the misses a little - but not even close to the improvement you'll get by fixing the impact consistency IF it is a problem. And if the impact is not an issue - then you wont really see all that much improvement with a more forgiving head.

That's fair. I know that my strike consistency isn't great. It always could be better. I'm no stranger to toeing one. I personally think I'd benefit from a proper fitting in the terms of distance. I'm leaving a lot on the table in terms of distance in comparison to how far I hit my irons.

I love this driver. I returned to playing the game after a 7 year layoff the year it came out. It seemed like everyone had one, and they we’re hitting the snot out of the ball...much better than the drivers I remembered. I got one, but it required some modifications to craft it to its current state of perfection. The major changes involved substituting an 80g shaft, adding head weight and shortening the shaft. Weight and loft positions remain the same. I’m inclined to agree with Tom Wishon that the loft adjustment is functionless. I don’t know about the weight sliders.

I have the 9.5* head set to 10.5 with the weights 2 clicks apart set two clicks to the fade side of the N on the slot. (i.e. a D++++||N+||+++F) to that effect. Works very well for me, I found that to be the most stable but long position for me. I am thinking about knocking the loft down to 10* to see if that helps or hurts, but at the moment I'm not messing with a good thing. I can send a pic of the setup tomorrow if you like.
