Staying as an amateur for ANWA is a big gamble that Bianca should be careful about.

This year's special occasion made big stars out of Jennifer Kupcho and Maira Fassi; but it didn't do anything for Yuka Saso nor Yuka Yasuda, who tied for third.

It'd be worthwhile if Bianca wins it; otherwise having a head start at LPGA is much more practical.

I much prefer the situation with Kristen Gillman than Jennifer Kupcho.

Atthaya Thitikul is ranked #4 in the amateur rankings, but is not entered in Stage II. She 16 years old. You think she's going to enter in 2020? I don't recall hearing that she was going to head to college.

@Argonne69

Nelly Korda was the medalist of 2015 Stage II, but she wasn't old enough to play Stage III. Instead, she played Symetra Tour in 2016.

Nelly was to turn 18 in July of 2016.

It seems a player needs to turn 18 by March of the next year to be eligible for LPGA.

Lucy Li won't turn 18 until November of 2020; like Nelly, she probably will stop at Stage II.

Atthaya turned 16 this past February and won't turn 18 next year, she's probably not old enough for Q-School. Interestingly, she'll be able to go the way next year and joins LPGA in 2021.

Yuka Yasuda is same age as Yuka Saso and Yealimi Noh; she's old enough to enter Q-School this year. But like all other Japanese, no urgency to leave Japan.

What do people think about the age requirement? My gut reaction (haven't researched it or really thought about it much) is that it is kind of stupid. If the person is talented enough, let them play. Also, given that they waived the age requirement (membership) for Lydia, it kind of seems like the only rule is "follow the money." Which is fine but then let's stop pretending other things are actually important.

Maria Sharapova turned pro on her 14th birthday; it didn't stop her from having a wholesome career both professionally and individually.

There's to be an age limitation; we don't want bunches of 10-11 years old professionals touring around the world.

Is 18 years old the right age, maybe not. The year of high school graduation is meaningless in this age of Internet learning.

I have mixed feelings about the age requirement. Obviously they make exceptions. Are the criteria well defined and publicized, or is it handled in a smoke filled back room? It's kind of silly to deny a young player a card when the player is already traveling the globe playing in, making cuts in, and sometimes winning, professional events, e.g. Atthaya.

Would the age restriction basically be a way to sort of prevent a minor from possibly making a bad choice turning pro so young? I understand some of the kids can and do compete at a young age with the more veterans out there. I feel like 16 should be a limit, but kinda like 18 better, it gives them a chance to be kids and do kid things before the pressures of tour life begin to set in.

It's not been updated yet. I suspect that it will be updated by tomorrow - after the Monday qualifying is completed for the CPWO and they update the entire site.

As temperatures soar well over the 100 degrees Fahrenheit threshold, competitors and their caddy will use carts. Furthermore, a minimum of the top-95 players and ties will advance to Stage II from Oct. 14-17 in Venice, Fla., on the Panther Course and Bobcat Course at Plantation Golf and Country Club.

A total of 43 countries are represented this week at Stage I of the LPGA Qualifying Tournament, led by the United States with 201 players then followed by Canada having the next highest of 20 competitors.
