Nippon Modus 120 vs DG 120 S300

Can anyone give me a comparison of these two shafts? I am currently playing DG 120 S300 with success, but am considering Nippons for my next set.

I think the Nippons feel much softer, smoother.... they will fly higher but I found dispersion to be about the same. If you are having success with the DG and like them, I'd stick with them.

I really like the feel of the DG 120, to me the flex feels fairly uniform from butt to tip. For me, the Modus 120 feels overly stiff in the mid to tip section relative to the softer butt. I know that's the Modus 120 flex profile, its just a feel I don't like. For reference, I like KBS Tour shafts. I could easily make the transition to DG 120 but Modus 120 would not be for me.

 

Just eyeballing the ball flight, DG, Modus and KBS all seem relatively close.

Modus 120x are a strange steel shaft. If you don’t like it you hate it if you do like it you LOVE it. I’m in the love camp best feeling shaft for me out there

I much prefer the feel of the Modus 120 to the DG 120 s300. I hit a ton of srixon z785 7 irons in both and had very similar numbers between the 120x and the 120 s300 in terms of ball speed launch and spin. But dispersion was definitely better with the 120x (my miss is a hook). The Modus 120x kinda feels like a smoother dg 120 s300 with a stiffer tip that responds more equally to bad swings and good swing. The regular s300 gave me just a fraction more ball still but launched 1 degree higher, which is no good for my naturally high flight.

KBS Tours are definitely on the other side of the road to the Modus 120 with the DG in the middle. I hate the KBS, like the DG, love the Modus. So definitely a love hate shaft that's easy to know from the first few swings.
