That is a hell of an itinerary, kudos if you can physically do it. All great choices, but remember you are walking at sand valley and the Irish/Straits courses. It’s at least 2.5 hours from Kohler to Sand Valley. Also check on stay/play at sand bc the par 3 is really fun and with 12 guys it would be so much fun gambling after a beer. No real reason to stay in plover or WI Rapids other than saving a few bucks but based upon this schedule that doesn’t seem to be an issue. Only play the Links at Lawsonia and 36 is fun there bc when you finish you will think you have 10 strokes to save if you only knew where to go! (We say it EVERY time even tho we know!)

Last thought. If you are a member of a club see if you can get on Milwuakee CC and or Bluemound for some old school architect play.

I agree that you should try and stay at sand valley if possible. Just a great golf vacation atmosphere. I however would disagree and say you should play the links and the woodlands if playing 36 at lawsonia. I personally think the woodlands is an amazing course in its own right. If you haven’t played there before I suggest giving both courses a chance.

> Couple things. Lawsonia has on site lodging that might be cheap for you if you are playing there. Sentry World has a great stay and play package that amounts to you getting hotel for about $50 per night. Check their website.

Thanks all for your input. It is a pretty aggressive itinerary, but Wisconsin is not somewhere any one of us will likely be seeing in the near future.

I guess my one thought is: how frugal is your group trying to be? I agree with others here that you should definitely stay at Sand Valley. The property is really cool and then you guys could do some late rounds at the Sandbox or even just chipping/putting outside your rooms. That being said, it isn't exactly cheap. Same with Kohler. Are you guys doing a stay and play? It isn't cheap either, but they make it somewhat reasonable if you're trying to do 36 a day. River-Meadows is a good day of 36 at the same property and it's a full day of carts. With their packages, your carts will be covered and you'll have caddies for Irish and Straits, although you'll have to tip. If you aren't staying on site in Kohler, I'd recommend tossing The Bull in there. Only Nicklaus course in the state (I think?) and it's a bear. First few holes are out in the open and extremely bland, but then you turn into the woods and shit gets real. You're definitely ticking most of the boxes here and if you don't think you'll be back anytime soon as you said, I'd try to splurge a little and enjoy all that our beautiful state has to offer! Go Pack!

I think I want you to adopt me! My only nitpick would be EH the afternoon of fly-in. Unless you got a direct flight to MKE out of LGA, I might consider flying into ORD (O Hare) direct. Or, if your flight connects at ORD and your connection runs late, there is a bus run by Coach USA that goes to MKE. But if your flight is delayed, I don't know if EH would refund three foursomes. Also you might want to consider Shipsticks for clubs and possibly luggage and have them sent ahead to EH.

This guy just named 4 courses that wouldn't be in the top 5 in Wisconsin.

I am a Minnesotan. Wisconsin golf is fine.

Hopefully a whole new setup coming soon!
