Pulling a Stability off a shaft

Just had an interesting question from a guy asking if I you can pull a stability shaft off the steel shaft and refit to another putter. I know the manufacturer doesn’t recommend pulling the stability off due to multilayers of material but it would be great to be able to transfer it from

One club to another especially at that price.

It's actually really easy if you take your time. The easiest way I've done it is to heat up a metal rod until it's red hot and stick it up inside the steel tip. Let it sit inside for a bit and then you can usually pull off the steel shaft from the Graphite tube. If it won't budge then repeat a few times until it's free.

Possibly another option would be to just heat the existing metal shaft that is still attached to the head, heat well below the stability adapter and let the heat transfer up the shaft. Wouldnt really matter if you damage/discolor the shaft "stem" as it would need pulled from the head and a new steel shaft installed anyhow to use the existing putter.

I’ve never had the balls to pull the steel shaft tip out of the coupler.  I’m terrified it’ll kill the feel of the shaft.  I’ve swapped a stability into multiple putters just with the same hosel bore

Yeah...the company 100% says not to do it so you buy another shaft.

I've used mine on multiple putters.

I've installed and uninstalled mine multiple times. I don't separate the collar from the shaft. I just remove it all together.

What's your process about this? I've got the first gen shaft with a chrome tip, I've had some rattle in the collar the last months and want to rebuild it with a black tip.

The easy part is removing the whole shaft from the hosel.  Remove it like any other shaff.

The hard part is removing the steel tip from the joint of the stability shaft. I have removed multiple shafts, but on at least 1 occasion i couldn't separate them without risk of ruining the shaft.

I had a buddy ask me about this over the weekend.  Good to see that you can remove it like any other shaft from the head.
