1- and 2-irons are not that difficult to hit, but to get the most of them is.

When they upgraded the site, my entire collection of Johnny Miller and the 1976 birkdale series was “thumbnailed”...

Anyhow, it’s Johnny at the height of his power so good even his playing partner, a very young , watched him on the range before the final round because “I didn’t get to watch him enough Saturday and his ball make a very loud sound”...so cool.

And Tom Kite wore powder blue and frosted his tips like a boss...

Reverse Cs were everywhere and the clothes were bananas...literally, one guy is such a badass he dressed like a banana

 

Enjoy the rabbit hole that the 1976 Open Championship from Brikdale....jack, Johnny, seve....what more could u ask for?

Never a very likeable guy (although I think hes mellowed a bit since he turned 50), but as someone who grew up watching him in his prime, I was always a fan of his game and his swing. I was nearly as devastated as he was watching that last hole.
