I don’t think jll was stating that “one size fits all.” I think he was taking issue with the implication that the DG S200 is a substandard stock shaft for a wedge offering. And I agree with jll. Even though I don’t play it because the Modus is a better fit for me personally, the DG line is a solid shaft that fits a remarkably wide array of players. It may currently not be the shaft du jour, but it has withstood the test of time.

Does it actually fit a wide array of players? Honest question. Especially knowing how bad the average players short game is...

The comment to which I replied was, "wish there was a better stock shaft." My point was if Vokeys are held up as the gold standard in wedges by the golfing public, then using the same stock shaft as the market leader can't be deemed a negative. There might be a better shaft for you, but matching spec with the market leader eliminates a differentiating factor that could prevent a potential buyer from choosing your product. You have to remember that WRX is not a representative sample of equipment buyers and the majority of golfers are not buying custom wedges.

To your point of saying Cleveland is using a legit stock shaft...that's unfair. Cleveland is using S400 TI as a way to differentiate their product and entice people to buy it, not because its a more legit shaft. The difference between S200 and S400 is 3g uncut and a couple of CPM cycles. Put them in blind and very few players will actually notice the difference. I play S400 TI in my wedges, I'm quite sensitive to shaft weight, and I highly doubt I'd be able to tell a difference in a blind test.

Another point, I'd much rather see DG S200 as the stock shaft than something lighter (e.g., KBS Hi-Rev 2.0 in the Hi-Toe) because it makes it easier to reshaft and keep swing weight in the same ballpark. If you start with a light weight shaft, now you're needing to remove weight from the head if you go to DG.

i'm not saying it's a negative in general, just a personal preference. It was probably a poor word choice, I should've said "different" instead of "better"

My hunch is yes. The black finish is a QPQ finish (quench-polish-quench) and the other wedges finished with that process seem to be stripped relatively easily.

That would be a beautiful thing.

Just do the CLR and heavy grit sandpaper, CLR and fine grit sandpaper rotation until totally raw ????

They've never released a standalone chrome Hi-Toe; only the copper finish. The chrome option is only available through the MyHi-Toe custom program.

Im thinking about preordering tomorrow if they allow custom options from the start. I may add a Big Toe into the mix but probably just going with two matte MG2.

Well fellas, I placed my orders sight unseen. I am not too worried about anything not "fitting". The shape seems to be great and I am sure the feel is acceptable. I pimped them out a little bit with the matte black Nippon Modus shafts. Cant wait to get them in.

That setup looks so sick!! Black nippon is super slick, TM has a winner with these in the looks department for sure. Hoping to see some reviews soon.

Didn’t realize that. Thanks for the info.

Are they going to come out with non raw faced MG 2 wedges? Not sure I really like that just the face is raw, I'd prefer none of it was in the black and I'd probably swap them out for my vokeys.

One of the reasons I switched to the Hi-Toe is the lighter Hi-Rev 2.0 stock shaft, the S200 feel too boardy and heavy to me. Different strokes for different folks...

The black vokeys are raw, albeit with a thin black coating that comes off easily.
