All sounds like good news to me. Where do they land size-wise? Are they smaller than the mp18 MMC, what would you compare them to?

I spoke to a rep from Mizuno last week and he said the 919 Tour will be more forgiving than the MMC. He was implying that there is little forgiveness in the MP line up. I like the tours for short irons and forged for long and wanted to play the MMC in place of the tours for my short irons but I’m not willing to lose any forgiveness, I need all I can get.

Hmm that’s weird because something I read from Mizuno (might have been from Vosh) said the MMCs are slotted in between the Tour and the Forged as far as forgiveness goes.

I think there is some contradiction from what I've heard about forgiveness in the new MP line. One article says the MP 20 line is not about forgiveness, it's about trajectory control. In other articles, I've read said that the new MMC does sit between the jpx tour and forged for forgiveness. Having gamed the MP 18 MMCs for over a year and short periods with the forged line, I'd say the MMC will be somewhere between the jpx 919 forged and tours. The MMCs are a very forgiving iron IOM. I'm still torn on what combo set I'll be ordering in the MP 20 line though. I'm thinking a HMB/MB combo would be bad a$$?

What's the general feeling on the S Taper vs. the Tour? Many have commented the S Taper doesn't have the feel of the Tour, yet they do provide better dispersion.

You’ve got to actually test the irons. My MP-4s perform significantly better for me than the 900 Tour /919 Tour/MP-18 lines. It’s not even close.

My MP-4s also have a significantly lower VCOG than the 900/919/MP-18 lines. I find that VCOG corresponds closely to how well I hit an iron.

Long story short, you have to test the irons for yourself and see what works with your swing + what fits your eye.

It means that any marketing images or official reviews from media outlets are withheld until 9/5. All we will see until then is what Mizuno has already released from their announcement at The Open and the in hand pictures already in this thread. I know I am anxiously awaiting the release. 9/5 feels like a lifetime from now.

The MP20 MC's are more forgiving than the JPX 919 Tours. The 919 Tour's are about the same as the MB.

These will feel much better than your AP3's and the AP3's are stronger lofted. These are kind of in the middle of traditional lofts and "players distance" lofts. The 5 degree gaps from PW to 9 and 9 to 8 change the strength of the lofts toward the long end of the bag.

Interested to see how these feel, I never gamed the MMC’s, but they always seemed to be in the running.

Saw these in-person today. I think they might be the best looking of the MP-20 line. The topline is thinner than the MP-18 MMC and very close the MP20 blade (though this is more because the MP20 MB has a thicker-than-expected topline on a knife-edge).

The overall look is classic Mizuno. Unexpectedly impressed.

Cannot wait for these. I'm leaning toward 5-6 HMB, 7-9 MMC and P blade. But if the MMC looks that good I might forgo the MB. Those who have an opportunity to check these out and better yet including pics, please share!

Having bagged the 18 MMCs for the past two seasons, the new 20s are some seriously sexy sticks. Alliteration intended. While I love my 18s, I think they're only "cute" vs. the "sweet jesus" of the 20s.

I need to have full access to the fitting cart. They only had c-taper lite regular and I was getting inconsistent distances despite the face feeling like butter. Not quite MP20 butter, but butter nonetheless.
