I'm a child of the 80s so I had the toy gun that shot those! Unfortunately I'm not a musician so I really have no clue what that is??!!

Have enjoyed seeing and reading about folks' ball markers, the practicality sentimentality, and creativeness of it all. Very impressive. Given Sergio's antics of late and alleged experience leaving a loogie here and there, glad there is an implicit understanding such is not considered a ball marker, tempting as such might be on days when ESCs are like fleas on a hound. Spent enough time in my younger days wading in an out of chaw on ball fields, but now wear white shoes, thus I am particularly grateful.

Put me down on the sentimental side since I use coins with the birth-year of my wife, mother, and father, in addition to the name tags of the dogs that have blessed me over the years by keeping me extra-warm in the winter and sometimes allowing me to actually sleep next to my wife.

"A 45 rpm adapter (also 45 rpm record insert, 45 rpm spindle adapter, or 7 inch adapter, the common size of 45 RPM records) is a small plastic or metal insert that goes in the middle of a 45-rpm record so it can be played on the LP or 78 rpm size spindle of a turntable."

Now, granted, there may be several terms in there unfamiliar to you - "record", "turntable", etc. :-) So, here's a link to Wikipedia - [45 RPM Adapter](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/45_rpm_adapter "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/45_rpm_adapter")

Recent silver eagles in circulated condition:

ubxrkg21jzrs.png

Largest American coin made. Almost exactly the diameter of a golf ball, which makes it easy to visualize your putt when the ball is marked.

Sure, they cost a couple dollars more than an ounce of silver, but you can always sell them at the spot silver price. Might even make a profit. [Easy to polish.](https://www.rd.com/home/cleaning-organizing/how-to-clean-silver/ "Easy to polish.")

Gift ideas?  Products I have tested.

Greetings, Tim929. I use the middle coin (wife's year) most of the time, and the other two (folks' year) from time to time, along with other markers even less. On days after a third or so triple-boogie, I am apt to use a rabies tag of Peanut's brother, Butter - a kind dog that loved animals of all types, even the skunk which was a bit more discerning in its likes, which by my association with "Peaceable Kingdom" made me a center of attention at work. I keep his and Peanut's last name tag in a safe-deposit box. Gotta keep something of worth in it.

The chip, have several, is used in the backyard to mark paces from which I try to chip to a particular landing point. It's a nod to the current analysis revolution in golf. Inspired, I can now more insightfully and accurately measure how bad I am and how grateful I should be that I am still allowed on the course.

I also had one of those guns that would shoot these little discs...but since it came from a record store...I almost feel like they would be used for earbud cords (storage/holding them in place)...

I was just at the Cameron gallery in Encinitas and didn't see any of those ball markers. I did pickup a sick hat and t-shirt though.

I have a handful I have kept over the years and am not usually one to drop a lot of dime on ball markers, but I really liked this one from Pruvn and it's become my go to this year.

  • 2 weeks later...

Some cool ideas here chaps, but wow! Spending over £100 on a ball marker seems crazy to me! I'd much rather use the money on a couple of lessons, or a nice dinner date with Mrs...

I've a few interesting looking coins collected from travels that I use when I remember. Generally though, any old coin that happens to be in my pocket when I get to the course will do me!
