Last ever set of irons

Why does it make sense to think that a set of irons bought at 65 will be their last set? The body and swing is still going to change, so what works best is likely to change as well.

 

I hope to be still be interested in playing when a bag full of hybrids is what works best for me.

I would honestly go with the JPX-900 forged that I currently have. The feel and ball flight I get from these is absolutely incredible!!!

Old set of Pings made from 17-4 stainless with no badges. Eye 2, Eye2+, ISI, Zing. etc. they would last forever, you can play these for 50 years and they still hold up.

No doubt my J15 CBs. Have a nice set waiting as backup, should get plenty of years out of them. I don't even look at irons anymore.

Hey, I'm enjoying my new irons too much to think about that.

 

Not looking at a hybrid set, but if I were buying today, the TS2s at least look good to me. But I haven't hit them, so I have no idea if they're a good fit for me now, let alone in 20 years from now.

That would be the damn oddest set ever. I play blades and the blueprints look really small. At 65 they are not even close to the best choice unless he's been on the champions tour.

I’ve worked my way through the AP2 cycle over the last 10-12 years, and at 63 years old will be starting the T100 cycle. Can’t commit these will be the last, but who knows!

Commissioned a set of NCW irons and they are everything I had hoped for, but I pray that they are not my last set of irons. Too many sticks on the market that I want to try, and I’m sure many to come.

Ping G400's are the most forgiving to last through your later years and they last forever. Easy choice to make.
