M5 Driver Weight Kit?

Anyone been able to find a weight kit for the M5? Surprised TM doesn't offer this right out of the gate with the release of the driver.

Hate having to slap 10g of lead tape on the bottom of a brand new driver that just happens to have an adjustable weight system built into the the club!!

Before anyone responds use older weights form M1/M3 iterations - I know you can rig these on there to make it work. Not interested in that solution as you can really only get the weight into the back of the driver and limits adjustability. Not to mention, it looks like hell, lol.

Not sure why you'd be surprised, they haven't done it with any of their drivers for quite a while - since the r7/r9/r11. :-)

I guess with the price point of the driver and highly touted adjustability of the M5, not having a weight kit really limits adjustment at anything other than stock 45.5"+ length.

But based on the history, I guess I shouldn't be to your point.

Will wait for a golfworks kit to appear I suppose....

Well, from the marketing standpoint, the point of the adjustability is for c.g. manipulation, not swing weight.

For those who don't want to accept the stock length, managing swing weight (head weight really) is a potential issue for all drivers irrespective of any movable weights, adjustability or price point. Titleist was the only major OEM that I'm aware of that has really addressed that particular issue.

Yes, I agree that the ability to easily do that with built in weights would certainly be a nice feature but there are other ways around the issue. I've not yet run across any driver I couldn't find a way to play at the shorter lengths.

First thing I did was weigh the head and get it to the desired 205g with lead tape, so I know how to get it there, I just would prefer a cleaner package. Also don't want to hotmelt in case I want to sell the head down the road. An additional 10g weight would actually fit the bill perfectly as well.

I also don't like to use hotmelt - I like to play around with the weight and also like to change shafts - which also requires further tweaks to the head weight.

I will generally start with a tip weight to get it most of the way - which you can get up to 10 gms - and use lead tape or aftermarket weights for the rest. The tip weights are another way to help tailor the amount on a per shaft basis.

Have you reached out to TM to see if there are plans for releasing M5 weights? They had M3 weights available last year, so I was expecting we'll see it again this year. I wish they were available at launch, but if they follow last year's playbook we'll see them in a month or so.

Regarding M3 weights on the M5, they actually fit only on the middle track. You can move them as far towards the face as you want, but they don't go as far back as the M5 weights. They don't fit on the back track at all unless you remove material off the weight.

Thanks for the response. I just ordered an additional 10g M3 weight to get it up to the 205g total weight I need at 44" shaft length. Will at least allow me to get rid of the lead tape and have some additional tuning options until "real" weights are available.

Posted this in the ognoing M5 /M6 thread, but wanted to provide an update here.

I can confirm the M3 weights DO NOT work with the M5 in any way shape or form.

The bottom half of the M3 weight will only fit in the "fade" position of the draw/fade track. The top half of the M3 weight only fits in the front/back track. And if you try to create a franken/hybrid of a top half of M5 weight and bottom half of M3 weight - the screw length is not appropriate.

In sum - M3 weights are NOT a solution. Back to lead tape...
