Zero short game spin? This is the kind of cr*p that really messes with people on here who don't know better. I play the V1 but come on, it's a good ball and spins. 7:30 of below video they do 50 yard test as well. TP5x spins with the best of them.

Your mileage may vary but you can find articles that literally say the reason Rickie and Rory especially switched from the 5x was lack of short game spin. I’m also not alone in the opinion from many of the other posters in these forums with experience. But I guess my opinions is crap.

Alot like me, but I went from the 765’s, which I loved but needed to move from stiff to stiff (just turned 50). Went to iblades with DG s300 tour issues and loved them but just wanted a few more yards and lower trajectory. I am a 2 handicap. Went to some i210s with project x LZ shafts and have really loved them. Shot 62 last week in an amateur event and also shot a 66 and 67 last week. Not all the i210s but I love their trajectory, soft feel and I feel like I have an additional 3-5 yds on my irons ( I know lofts are stronger a bit). Couldn’t recommend them more. Only down side is wider sole, but I have not had one issue with it. I thought I would.

  • 2 weeks later...

Im not as good as alot on here (6-9 hcp) with little to no practice...play twice a week. As far as the ball comments, I listen to many who swear by Pro Vs. They may work great for them, but they do nothing for me. I can hit a Wilson Staff Duo soft MILES better than a pro V...feels better, goes farther and straighter, and cost 24.99. Compared to these, pro Vs feel like a rock. My ball hits and stays where it lands (within 3 feet). Pro Vs do the same. I just dont spin it alot, so why play a ball that feels like crap to me because Rory plays it? Point being, its the player's swing and ultimate results that commands choice of ball... My friend spins his Taylormade ball back alot...frankly i prefer knowing (playing sloping greens) that the ball is going to be near where i hit it instead of getting the crowd pleasing spiner that leaves me off the green. :)

And back to the iblades!!

After playing i210s for 2 months I started back playing my previous set and really feel confident again. I liked the distance with the i210 but like the sharper/thinner sole of iblade. I notice almost a club difference more with the long irons but play an i500 4 iron which fixes some of that. I guess I’ll just stick with them until they fall apart...
