Wedge shafts in relationship to your iron shafts?

+1 on DG TI s400 for wedges. 4-PW I use the TI x100, I've just always been a fan of the feedback I get from the s400 and the consistency it delivers even on swings I really go after

I was told once that wedges that you're going to full swing should have same shafts as other irons. Makes sense.

Either heavier or same weight. Lighter would be a no-no. Sometime stock vokeys would be too light for whatever reason. I think they'd put S200s in there, call it "wedge flex", and say no could tell the difference. But I could. Now I have the heaviest weight shaft i could find that also matches the overall bend profile of my irons.

X100 in the 54 degree since I rarely use it inside 100 yards. S400 in the 60 for best feel and versatility on all shots inside 100 yards.

Heavier shafts in my wedges. Don't know why it works for me but it does. Steelfiber i95's in my irons, s400 in my wedges.

Modus 105 S in 4-P....TI S400 50 & 56....Modus 125 S in the 60

I absolutely love the feel and performance of the TI s400 wish I had gone that route awhile ago. So stable. The modus 125 S was one I had laying around. It happened to work perfect in the 60

I like all of the set irons/wedges (through GW or SW for me) to have the same shaft.

 

For the highest lofted wedge, I've had anything from an r-flex 6-iron shaft to an X100. The feel is different but I'm not sure it makes much of a difference in the actual shot on these partial swings.

I play the same shaft in all of my 'full shot' wedges, but a wedge-specific shaft from the same manufacturer in the lob wedge.

 

So Modus 105 in 4-GW/SW and Modus 105 Wedge (111g actual) in the 60 degree lob.

I think heavier is better for choke down touch shots etc. 110 in irons, and 125 in wedges for me.

Same for me in all but the 58*. I go heavier in the 58 and normally a flex softer or half flex. I like all my fuller swing shafts to match. To me the lob 58 in my case is a club all it’s own. It needs to feel good for 25 shots rather than 3-4.

I'm ctaper x from wedges through irons, but they're all 0.5 inches short and lately with my wedges I've had issues where I thin or chunk shots when gripping down on my wedges, is this a shaft issue? I may go with some s400's at standard length. Is this a good idea?

I prefer a little heavier. KBS C Taper 120 in irons and KBS tour 125 in wedges. Works for me.

I use ascending weight Steelfiber Players Spec shafts in my MOI matched irons. I have Nunchuk Xi shafts with a higher MOI/swing weight in my wedges. But that's probably just because I got the Nunchuk's used to experiment with and I found they work well in my wedges.

DG s300 in irons and DG s400 in wedges, without the fancy TI label,? yet sorted precisely for headweights used, so I'm good with that??

Have used both of these shaft variants in many different irons and wedges, comfortable and it works well for me, so no need to change.

I built my last few sets with the same shafts going all the way through my lob wedge, with a consistent swingweight progression. I think it helps consistency in feel.

 

But if I used really light iron shafts, I think I would have to use something heavier in the 54*+ wedges. They need some weight so they move through the grass well, and feel right with slower pitch and chip swings. High swingweight with light shafts doesn't feel the same as heavier overall weight.
