Nice. Didn’t think they’d be in stores yet. Looking forward to hit this side by side with the Titleist u500.

Stopped by local GG after work hoping to try P790 4 iron. Ended up only trying UDI since they did not have them yet.

Surprisingly thin sole compared to my p760.

Top line seems still thick and back chuck was still visible from address.

Had little dead feel on strike but could be something with me not doing well with project x shaft line

Went to PGA store fully intending to order the UDI. I found it to look very odd from the top down - you obviously could see a bit of the backside of the club at address, but it looked to be protruding much more behind the toe section. Might just be me, but I couldn't get past it. Got identical numbers with the new Titleist utilities and went with the U510.

Got mine in. Extremely disappointed. Ordered standard length with the smoke 100 6.5 with BCT Full cord grip and it came in at C9 which is unplayable and would have to add way too much lead tape and don’t want to do that anyway. Pretty sad they just take heads and glue in shafts and can’t get swingweight even close. I also got the MG2 wedges and they came in at D1. Will be sending it all back with hopes they will send me replacements with the swingweight I want or I guess I won’t be ordering anything from Taylormade again.

Unfortunately they don’t adjust for swing weight.

I know and that in itself is sad, but when I order standard length with a standard grip, why does it come at C9 when the website lists stock SW at D2? I would prefer D3 but they can’t even hit the mark the website lists as the stock swingweight?

Yeah I agree that is not acceptable. They should be able to hit the listed swingweight plus or minus whatever the industry standard is.

TM is still missing the mark on shafts for the UDI. It's basically their iron shaft offerings plus the HZRDUS Black HY shafts. That's what it was for Gen 1 and is pretty pathetic.

Titleist TSR3 : Ventus TR Blue 6X
Taylormade Stealth Plus : Ventus Velocore Blue 7X
Taylormade SIM2 Rescue - AD-IZ 85X
Taylormade P770 4-PW : MCA MMT 125X
Taylormade MG 50/54/58 : MCA MMT 125X
Swag Handsome One
Taylormade TP5

How about ordering a grip with less weight, then switching it out for another (heavier) grip to achieve desired swing weight:

"By increasing the weight of the golf grip by 4 grams, the swingweight will be decreased by one swingweight point (decrease from D4 to D3, for example). Conversely, by decreasing the weight of the golf grip by 4 grams, the swingweight will be increased by one swingweight point."

How about they actually deliver the correct SW with whatever grip you order. Also if I ordered a lighter grip then added a heavier one after I got it the SW would be even lighter, it wouldn’t “achieve the desired SW”’ those are contradicting statements.

This is secretly what I wanted to hear! Thank God, my wallet is safe lol. I am really enjoying the Gen 2 790s though.

Played 18 over the weekend only hitting the UDI off the tee (non par 3's obviously). I was pretty disappointed in the performance/feel vs the original model. The head appears a little smaller and MUCH less forgiving. Anything not hit out of the middle felt very dead and the head seemed to twist/torque a good bit.
