I have a fair bit of experience stripping chrome as I refinish lots of sets as a hobby. I can say that chrome and nickel loss at most is 5g - some heads lose less.

 

Additionally nitride is the right choice for black or if someone can do black chrome well that would depend on the finish type i.e. high polish vs bead blast etc. As that contributes to how easily it scratches - just look at the P790 Black edition or GAPR high polish doesn't hold up well regardless of coating.

its ok,i had set done.the leadng edge wears if you hit off a mat and will mark if you drop it etc.

otherwise ok but i woudnt bother again

I've narrowed down to Tiger Nick and Kyle but their email comms are sooo bad. Not confident inspiring.

 

I'm (trying to) asking Nick about his Nitride finish on durability and cost but can't get a response for over 2 weeks.

 

Kyle has responded but at more than twice the cost of Nick's satin black chrome, I'm not sure I want to go DLC route. Then again, the comms of Nick.

DLC is a more expensive process, so up to you.

 

Try messaging Kyle through instagram, instead of email. He's super active there and has always responded quickly to my requests.
