what i think

this is one impressive wedge from titleist. i have been a titleist player for a long time, and i finally managed to get myself a "brand new" wedge.

the oilcan SM56-10 is fantastic, the finish is dead sexy, even though it is showing its raw metal after one day of practive and 2 rounds of play, i think it is looking great, and it feels solid with a crisp sound. the spin is optimal and the reduced glare with the oil can finish helps alot, especially when opening up in a bunker. once it starts to gather some more rust i think i will like it that much more. all in all i highly recommend this wedge to people that are stuck on what to buy. pics coming soon if you want 'em.

I agree wholeheartedly. My last Titleist wedges were the Raw series, a great line of wedges. The newest Oil Cans however, are fantastic, certainly the most attractive wedges I have used in a long time. The teardrop shape is classic and the finish is a great color, a shiny, even, light brown tone. Having used them for a few rounds, the rust is beginning to accumulate, although this series is by no means suited to rust automatically. The finish wears well, and quite evenly. In all, the wedges are very easy to hit, easy to get used to, and very pleasing to the eye.

My only complaint is that Vokey isn't offering a 60* wedge with slightly higher bounce for use out of the bunker.

I also have nothing but good things to add regadring the Oil Can spin Milled. I've got the Spin Milled Oil Can 60° and Oil Can 56° and 52°. The 60° produces an extra bite I was expecting. They all are chewing golfballs, as expected with new wedges. I'm glad I didn't get a 56° Spin Milled, it might produce too much spin.

im getting a whole new set of wedges

and thinking about getting 52,56 oilcan and the spin mill oilcan in 60 but i was thinking about taking the finish off a soon as i get it because i love the raw/satin look

the finish will wear off on the bottom half of the clubface along with the sole in about 2-3 rounds of play with each wedge, they look great that way.

definitly get them all though!! :)

I just got a 56.10. The first thing I noticed was it felt about twice as heavy as my rac black 60.07. Thin layer of rust has covered the club after three rounds. My pro said you can use steel wool to remove the rust if you prefer the brown finish. I got it for AUS$150 and $30 under retail!

What's going on with your irons in that picture? It looks like duct tape on the backs. You have have some supplemental weight back there and taped over?

believe it's lead tape, don't know what else it could be

crappy lead tape, my club component shop was closed one night when i took the swingweight scale home, so i had to go to my competitors store and buy their junk, 3 rolls almost, it weighs nothing per inch, def not high qual stuff, but it did the trick. the next time i change the grips the tape is going, my friend is going to powder and cork them for me.
