Oh really? which bag brand do you use?

This is the first time this happened..

> Update: Nick is sending me another bag. He did however tell me this would still fall under the “normal wear and tear” but they would replace it this one time. I really feel like the only reason I got a replacement and call from Nick is because Eric told me it was not meant for a cart. I’m glad to be getting another bag but having to pay return shipping is not right for a faulty product. I feel like this was handled poorly on vessels end and after this experience I won’t purchase another item from them(I also have a Cameron backpack by them). Hope this thread was helpful.

Don’t discount this thread’s impact as well. If your exchange with Vessel was never shared on a well known public forum, I wonder if they’d have even exchanged it “this one time”.

Thank you for this, much laughter on my part.

All I can say is that I currently own 3 Vessel bags, they are by far the best carry bags I have ever owned. I have 2 black synthetic leather bags and 1 white actual leather bag. The white one has some color distortion from when I have used it on a cart but no rubbing de-lamination, the black ones I could deff see it making marks. But I figured that out when I saw the material, I could see and figure out before actual testing what would make marks and what would not.

Excuse me, sir , why would anybody want to steal a screw?

> UPDATE ON MY BAG: I never got a call or e-mail from anyone and then yesterday got an order notification & shipping status. So I have a new bag headed my way. Just no communication at all about the whole situation.

Glad it got sorted but still, so disappointingly handled from a company that is trying to position as a luxury / quality good. Seems like it would have taken Vessel a few minutes to give you an update and keep you as a happy customer after they took the hit on the expense of a replacement bag and shipping to you.

A couple of years ago I had two warranty replacements around the same time. A pair of Allen Edmonds shoes, couldn't have been better. Great communication and a new pair of shoes in the mail. And then a chef's knife, similar to you, it arrived in the mail one day with zero communication. It was nice to have the issue resolved but I remember feeling an additional quick email update would have given me a lot more confidence as a repeat customer.

I have a white vessel carry bag and 2.0 backpack. Love them both but sad to read about the experiences on this thread. I haven't beaten up the carry bag so will proceed with caution based on what I am seeing here.

> What were those old Miller cart bags made out of? They never showed any wear from a cart strap and held up great. I wish you could get a stand bag made with that material. Maybe the weight is a challenge?

The older Miller bags were made of real leather and Kevlar type nylon--- And yes they are heavy---- I just found one at Good Will the other day that appeared to have never been used. I snagged it for 9.99. I had been using a older Hoofer or Sun Mountain but the cart attendant guys around here tend to choke the living $**t out of them putting them on a cart. My Jones Classic non stand was really too small for my stuff even though I do not carry a lot of stuff. This bag is heavier but sets up well for me. Far as the old Millers or Burtons for that matter they are well made but heavy. Today's bags are made to be weight conscious so in a lot of cases sacrifices durability for weight.

OP I am glad you got your matter straightened out. Like to think it was all the comments on WRX that helped.

I'm either lucky or I don't strap my bag in near as tightly as you do. I bought a white Players 2.0 Stand back in April and don't have any abrasions like that. My bag has held up well, cleans up easily too. I play 3-4 rounds per week, all riding in a cart. Only area I've noticed wear is around the base of the bag on the front, from sliding the bag in and out of my trunk.

Relax... not trying to stir anything up, just offering my experience with extensive cart use. There's obviously something different about your bag than mine, because I've not seen anything similar to this. I will agree that the customer service was quite terrible in your case. I hope you're able to sell it and get most of your money back so you can find something you're happy with.

Sorry man. Glad your bag has held up. Customer service has really turned me off from them as company.

Update: Bag came in and it seems like it’s made from a different material(has a different texture to it). The handle is different and has a cheaper look to it. The magnetic closure is also not as well made as my last bag. Didn’t have the carbon fiber towel ring. Bag came packaged like they just threw it in a box. Had red duck tape on all the edges top and bottom. Was shipped like I bought it off eBay from an individual lol.

They should have just refunded you, so as to avoid future scrutiny.

Yikes. As a company you never want your customers to have a bad experience with your product. That being said, if there is an issue, it gives you a chance to show your mettle and deliver an excellent level of customer service. Sounds like they failed on both counts.

So, I’m curious to hear more about the construction of the new bag you received. It’s made out of different materials? Like, same bag, completely different materials? Was it a factory second, or they knew that the model you had previously had design flaws and have changed materials? It sounds like you got the same bag back but one made with less expensive materials. Kind of like buying a regular old bag, but paying for a premium one.

Im curious more for sh*ts and giggles than anything - I’d never consider a bag from Vessel after reading this. I’ll just stick to Ping Hoofers moving forward. Never had a problem with them and I know what kind of customer service I’d get from Ping if I ever needed it. Thanks for making shopping for my next bag easier, I am just about due too.
