Anybody been to a "Titleist Thursday" driver fitting this year?

I have an appointment for next week and I'm wondering what to expect for driver/fairway fitting. I'm certainly intrigued by the Surefit system since I'm currently gaming older clubs without adjustability.

I did recently. Was fit into a ts2 from my epic flash subzero.

The fittings are down with a trackman using prov1 balls. The way my fitter did it was that he asked me to not look at any club or shaft that he was handing me.

Basically he handed me a club and asked me to hit it a few times. Then I went back and forth with that club and my epic until I had about 3 shots with each. He would then repeat the process a few more times before finally making a head and shaft selection based on the numbers and my input on feel, looks, etc. This whole time I did not know which model head, shaft (within reason because it’s hard to hide), or weight/hosel setting I was using.

It was a pretty cool fitting overall and I ended up buying a ts2. My dispersion and spin was a lot better. Yardage was a few yards more but I didn’t care about that because I wanted a better ball flight and that’s what I got with the ts2.

After you signed up, did you receive any notifications that you were scheduled for the fitting... basically just confirming your appointment? I signed up on Titleist website, but have not received any confirmation that it was scheduled.

lookylookitzadam is right on. Bring your clubs warm-up and let the guys drive. You have four drivers to try, plenty of shafts, and all the Titleists you can hit. Ask lots of questions and describe how things feel. It's fun! I've done a Thursday and a Club Champion fitting both use Trackman with good balls. Club Champion has more options, my fitter was amazing, it costs more, and is indoors. Titleist is only one brand, it's outdoors, my fitters... I felt like they were following a corporate script. Indoors/outdoors/cost/fitters, I enjoyed both and bought Titleist drivers after each fitting, 917 from my Thursday, and a TS3 based on my Club Champion.

Got an email from Titleist confirming the fitting and letting me know who my fitter was going to be.

I just booked an appointment for tomorrow, and got a conformation email in seconds.

I had a great experience with my Titleist Thursday fitting in Nashville with Peter Clark. I'd never been fit for any clubs before and I was amazed at some of the results. Plan to do a full write up when time allows.

I did one a couple years ago. I don't know that I'd call it a fitting. It was more like hit any new Titleist clubs you want see how you like them. Also tried out a bunch of wedges with different grinds to see which one I liked the most. Granted, it was a very poor ball striking day for me. Something about ProV1 balls gives me the %%^%$s.

I did a Titleist Thursday in April. They pretty much had the stock shafts with just a few aftermarket shafts. They don’t have all the shafts that Titleist has to offer. If you want all the shafts you would want to find a Titleist national fitting center. None of the stock shafts I really liked but ended up with the Evenflow White. I plan on going to the Titleist nation fitting center this spring to find a better fit for me. For free it’s fine unless you are picky and want to find the best fit shaft. I would rather pay for a fitting and have more options.

Dr: TSi3 10 Ventus Red 6s

F: TS2 16.5 Ventus Red 7s

H: 915h 18 and 24 diamana s+

I: P770 5-PW Steelfiber i95s

W: MG3 49, 54, 58 dg115

P: Scotty Cameron Flowback 5.5 w/      custom CT Tour shaft (custom red,white,blue paint fill with stars & stripes headcover)

EFW is a really nice shaft. Not watered down like the old days. Was fit into it and got better numbers than my very expensive Hzrdus HC black.

About three years ago I got a Thursday fitting at an area course. It was wedges, not driver.

The pro got baseline data from my iron set 46* PW shots, and helped me gap things out from there. Recommended 50-56-60 mix. (not much distance difference from 50 to 54 for some reason)

What's In The Bag (As of April 2023, post-MAX change + new putter)

Driver:  Tour Edge EXS 10.5° (base loft); weights neutral   ||  FWs:  Calla Rogue 4W + 7W

Hybrid:  Calla Big Bertha OS 4H at 22°  ||  Irons:  Calla Mavrik MAX 5i-PW

Wedges*:  Calla MD3: 48°... MD4: 54°, 58° ||  PutterΨSeeMore FGP + SuperStroke 1.0PT, 33" shaft

Ball: 1. Srixon Q-Star Tour / 2. Calla SuperHot (Orange preferred)  ||  Bag: Sun Mountain Three 5 stand bag

    * MD4 54°/10 S-Grind replaced MD3 54°/12 W-Grind.

     Ψ  Backups:

  • Ping Sigma G Tyne (face-balanced) + Evnroll Gravity Grip |
  • Slotline Inertial SL-583F w/ SuperStroke 2.MidSlim (50 gr. weight removed) |
