My unicorn irons?

Patrik1982

Recommended Posts

Quite content with my i210s. They fly high, plenty forgiving, but not very pretty. Having played them ALL year I'm getting the itch..

I really dig the MP 18SC's. But - my dream would be a more square toe, less offset (especially in the shorter irons) and maybe an ever so slighly longer blade length. If there's a set gap wedge available I'd consider it a big bonus!

New or old doesn't really matter.

Do they exist?

Probably check out Miura CB-1008. Very similar to MP18 SC but slightly more square toe.

Tools not jewels. If you're scoring who cares what your sticks look like. I210 is drastically more forgiving than SC. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Better tools if they look like jewels ?

Anyone got any outside Miura? Tricky to get a hold of, and on the expensive side.

SC has very little offset. Same as your i210 my iblades, Apex MB, MP18 MB etc etc. Less than AP2, CB, and MB.

Good luck with your search man. I have looked at many irons over the past few years, but can't seem to find anything that takes my Cobra Amp Cells out of the bag. When I am striking the ball good, they are amazing players irons, and when i'm playing not so good, they are forgiving. I just like the looks of them and the performance is great. Forgiving GI irons that have the look of players irons.

Try in the JDM section. Many own them. Have not seen a negative review. OnOff makes premium equipment. They were better known in the 80' and 90's as DAIWA.

If the offset is what you're after those OnOff are the same as the SCs and what you already play.

I'd been gaming P790's since last year. Was the best of both worlds, looks like a blade plays like a game improvement club (my unicorns). However the more i played I started hitting shots that were left or right, not the club but just not as forgiving as I wanted. I can handle a shot pattern as long as it's fairly predictable. I think the shafts, lengths and lies weren't exactly what I needed and I know I should of had them fitted but I was afraid that would mean changing shafts etc. Broke out my Ping G irons and it's game on again. I can live with the ugly looks as long as that shot dispersion remains. The P790's were great and I may try them again one day with a proper fitting but for now these ugly G's are just stupid easy to hit.

... Nice! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder when looking at their scorecard. Those that choose looks over performance are playing fashion, not golf. Put that coffee down! Coffee is for closers. ABS ... Always Be Scoring.

The ones I had were the 2013 model and were easy to hit and felt fantastic. They did wear a bit quick but very very good clubs.

All Clubs subject to change relative to my last bad round of golf......
