Couple tweets I've seen from people at the course say it was windy and very cool. Afternoon should get stronger winds but will be much warmer, probably a pretty even day for conditions

Early leader picks up where she left off last year. Brooke is in the clubhouse after posting a score of -6 to snag the early lead. The time off seems to have done her some good! She's in a good group ... Minjee is T5 after posting a score of -3 and Stacy Lewis posted a round of -2.

 

We'll see how the afternoon tee time players fare. Some bigger names still to come in JY Ko, SH Park, Ariya, Lexi and Nelly Korda. So we will see how things play out!!

In Gee didn't play badly; but is flirting with cutline again.

I have twice, and picked Lexi as a my darkhorse when she won. So 3 if Lexi can be considered a darkhorse.

Yikes! ? So she 3 putted almost every hole - or probably balanced a couple 2 putts with some fine 4 putts. ?

Reminder that I am bad at golf; Muni and Alison Lee both had a bad day shooting 78 and 80. Looking at the course (rated slightly over par, mid-to-high 130s slope), their scores and any stats (GIR, pars or better, etc) would have been a pretty good day for me.

 

Note, Muni is now listed as "WD." Anyone know what happened?

That's too bad. The clock is winding down on chances to earn enough money to avoid Q-School. Next week would be a good opportunity if she is healthy and can play.

Michelle Liu is having a round two days. It's tough to watch the young amateurs struggle in these events. Hopefully she'll take away only positives from the experience.

I presume that you meant a "rough" two days and were the recipient of "auto correct" or a good old fashioned typo!

As she is only 12 years old, she is still not very long off of the tee and presumably with the rest of her clubs as well. She has "only" averaged 207 yards off of the tee which puts a huge amount of pressure on the second shot. She has only managed 6/18 GIR yesterday and 5 today (through 13). That puts a ton of pressure on the short game. Nonetheless, she is 12 and should be able to use the experience as a good learning moment.

12 years old is way too young to seriously compete in a pro event. Hopefully she’ll just relish the experience and learn from it without beating herself up too bad

I saw her post round interview yesterday, she was angry with how she played and really upset with her chipping. That's what I like to see in a player, so she'll be fine. She won 2 world events in her age group this season so she's ahead of her peers to a degree. We see plenty of LPGA players shot in the 80's, just most of them aren't 12 years old lol.

Her day will come, she's been averaging 260 yards off the tee; she'll contend once she gets her approach shots dialed in.
