somehow I've manged to follow hundreds of social media golfers and would be coaches, today I got rid of all of them bar a couple and its a great feeling :-)

Yeah, bro. Considering that's mostly just noise it can't be healthy. Everyone falls down a rabbit hole every once in awhile but you can't live there. Social media and YouTube are messing a lot of people up.

This forum is as close to "social media" as I come.

 

And I ignore all the "content" here, I'm only here for the discussion forum. Passively "following" a list of people on Twitter or YouTube or something seems inexplicable to me but I know most people nowadays do it.

 

P.S. I guess there's one exception to that. During NFL season there's a writer named Mike Tanier whose Twitter posts I read every morning. He's funny. I don't have a Twitter account but Google gets me to his stuff.

I do not go on Facebook or Twitter or any of that mess. My wife deleted her Facebook account some time ago. I guess my social media outlet is here and one other golf site I frequent. And even here there are some areas I do not go in especially the I&A forums. As far as I&A goes I am of the theory there is no set in stone way to swing or play this game. And I will add respectfully everyone is entitled to their opinion and has a right to express it

I sometimes think the I&A forum is GolfWRX's equivalent of the Dark Web.

Never got into the whole social media thing and never understood why people are so enamered with it. Nothing on there is real. I still value a handshake and breaking bread. Amazing how some people are blown away by the idea of meeting in person nowadays. Real influence is done person to person and that will never change.
