Evevflow Blue 65

Recommended Posts

I am considering buying a Rogue driver from Callaway Preowned. The Evenflow Blue 65 is on my radar to pair it with. With a ss of 88 to 92 mph, and a fairly quick transfer which way should I be leaning stiff or regular flex? I do not like a boardy feeling shaft, and launch angle is not an issue. Any real world advice and experience woul de helpful. Thanks

IMHO, go regular.

I have had various Cally drivers in both stiff and reg flexes. we know manufacturers differ a bit on specs.

with your SS, in the long run, reg should suit you.

stiff with a really soft tip might work, unless you find that Evenflow really whippy, you ought to be fine.

I hope you have demo'd it somewhere already.

many times it gets a tad difficult to get the head thru the ball w a stiff shaft for a slower swinger.

with driver, you need a repeatable swing path and great contact.

whichever you decide, enjoy.

currently playing:
FT-5 - D
Cally FT hybrids
Hogan Edge GS, 4-PW
Vokey Oil Can 52, 56
Ping Anser 2

My SS is right at 100, the R works very well for me. Now I'm looking to drop a flex in my 3 wood as it now feels like a board.

like your user name, but kidding right?

While I believe weight is more important than flex, IMO, if you are a "tweener", go with the stiffer flex,,,,,,,,, especially given your quick transition.

YMMV, I tried the EF Blue in my 785 earlier this month...I have a quick transition as well. Didn't work out for me at all. Couple of buddies of mine with much smoother transitions gave it a go and loved the shaft...I absolutely hated it.

Got to hit them, but if your quick transition hitter vs slow smooth swinger, go stiff. Swing speed is secondary. I swing 85 and play 68 gram stiff, tried lighter and different regulars and the flex really doesn’t matter. Does the shaft profile match your swing profile. Most regulars go high right with lots of spin with my slightly over the top swing. Hit a little cut with some stiff like the one I’m playing.

Same for me. Felt like I had to really go at it and when I did the feel of the butt end was not to my liking

Decided to go with the regular. Got it from Callaway Preowned, it came stiff. I have thought about keeping, but after handling it It just feels too stiff. Jeremy< at Callaway is sending me out the reg right away no problem. A great guy to deal with. Mistakes do happen, it"s how you fix them that customer service is based on.

You can't tell anything from "feeling" it. You have to HIT it.

Like guys waggling a driver off the rack in the store and saying "It's too stiff" or "It's too whippy". That sort of thing tells you nothing.

As IHS suggested you should hit it a few times to see if you like it,,,,,,,,, and maybe send back the regular,,,,,,,,,, LOL

I'd sure go hit both before sending one back.
