2019-2020 NFL Elimination Challenge Contest / Season long

Well how about we do one of these this season here on the 19th hole thread. I would expect most of you know how to play. The Honor System is used in this contest as I have no idea how many participants there will be, and therefore will not be keeping a running tally of the results. The rules are simple. You just pick one game a week in the NFL and state who will win the game ( no point spreads are involved, just pick the victorious team). If you make a correct pick you advance and continue on to the next week. On the other hand if your pick is incorrect you are out of the contest and done for the season. It is a fun contest that will bring some good banter and conversation around these parts. The last player standing at some point in the season is the winner. Do you win a dozen personalized Pro V's or Pro Vx's??? NO! You win bragging rights here on the WRX. I will do my best to moderate the thread. I hope some of the usual talking pro football heads around here will join in this contest.

Anyone else psyched that the season is only two weeks away?

I'm in, and I'd suggest an additional rule that every knockout pool I've ever been in has had: you can only pick a team to win once for the season.

 

Not that I don't want to see Q take it and have the Pats go 16-0...

I also thank you for the suggestion. I have not participated in an elimination pool before and thus did not know that basic rule.

As Commish of this sucker it is now the case...........You May Only Pick Each Team Once in this year long contest.

So possibly the Q man was thinking he could run the table against all the comers with the pats each week. Clever Q you struck again.

That makes 3 players so far.

However, I survived several weeks in a pool a couple seasons ago by picking whoever the Browns were playing. Not so this year acording to the experts. I'll give it a shot Touch.

When the wisest man from Big Sky country asks about the 3 weekly picks deal ,one must act. Why does one act rapidly you ask? For the people of the (NFL) land deserve to hear the tales of Sleepy Eyed Joe once more. Many villagers look forward to the colorful well written pro football bits that come from the small cabin 28 miles north of Bozeman.

It was more the question of why the change? But in retrospect, the pick em was a lot of scrolling and checking etc. This will be fun, and on a side note, the thin air of Denver has really helped Sleepy Eye look more alert. Is he? Only time will tell.

No Pete it's not too much work. It is but a labor of love for ole touch. Besides it might just be you and me with the Q participating. Naw probably a handful more but I'm all good with running another Pick 3 weekly contest using the speads.

You get your first frost up there yet?

You know what Touch, I am reflecting and thinking the three pack was a lot of work. Let’s just do this one and call it good. I think this one will permit deeper dives into the content. I hope you are playing well. My game is in the crapper, but according to friends, nothing has really changed so at least I am consistent. Thanks for your concern of me being quite burdened Pete3jacker. We shall have two contests this year sir Big Sky and the other participants!

A few posts up you will see the fine offer Knockit made to assist me in anyway. I took him up on it. The guy is tough Pro sports bettor and always finishes at the top of these things I throw up here on the 19th hole. He is a Broncos fan so all the Sleepy Eyed material is greatly encouraged as well Pete!

So let's all get excited for the pick 3 weekly games with the spread as Contest 1, and the second contest is the Weekly one pick elimination deal.

I'll just load up on the Butterfinger mini's and Red Bull's and I keep these contests going. I'm so glad to have you around the pro football thread each NFL season sir MT., and you know that is sincere Pete. Your contributions rock the place.

You asked about our games Pete. I am especially enjoying golf this summer sir. I have been playing my best in years. I do play twice a week and hit the range for two one hour practice sessions weekly as well. One's scores tend to drop when you are around the game that much. Hope your game turns around soon as your summers are short up north. I surely hope you are having a pro look at your swing as well sir. It's a must as you probably know.

I regularly have my take away looked at as I feel the back swing sets the tone for so much that follows it. The proper tempo for your strength and ability is also so key. Work on both and when you see the scores drop I'll send you a bill.

It will be a good year. I am hopeful @Forged4ever will get on board as well. I suspect he is quite the picker and also can dive deeply into the game. Not sure when the season starts but I am collecting content daily. Me and Mr Big Chest.

WEEK 1 NFL Elimination contest

Pick one team weekly ( may only use a team once in this contest, a different team each week must be selected).

Just pick the outright winner of the game. There are no point spreads involved.

Honor system is in play here ladies and gents as you are to keep your own results and post them weekly please.

You win you carry on. You lose just once and you are out of the contest. The last participant standing wins. Should there be a tie I will turn over the tie breaker to all of you. You all decide what format would work in the playoffs.
