Just bought 56 and 60 eye 2. Playing them tonight. I cant wait! Brings back fond memories! Pairing with g410 4-PW and glide Stealth 2.0 50. Excited about new shaft. Seem to keep flight down more.

I watched that video and I was stunned that almost all that spin was maintained when the wedge and hitting area were wet. That should get most people to want to switch to these.

I saw this video. That is really incredible and imo a game changer for many.

Played my first round with mine last night. Replaced a pair of Cleveland RTX-3's with a TON of mileage on them. Couldn't believe the spin difference. Stopping power on well struck shots was amazing, and the course was a little wet. When I miss with my wedges, it's usually a little thin, but comes out with more spin and stops quicker, at least with the Cleveland. Last night I hit the 54 from about 110 yards to a back pin on a tiered green and thinned it a bit. It hit about 6 feet past the pin and spun back all the way down to the front of the green. Never seen anything like it from one of my shots.

I'm going to have to take some time on the practice area to get a feel for the Ping out of the sand. Same bounce as the Cleveland, but seems to "cut" into the sand much shallower on greenside bunker shots. Ball came out a lot flatter, which worries me because my home course has a fair number of high-lipped bunkers.

I personally don't think they'll be one due to the Hydropearl finish, unless the engineers can figure out how to get it to hold onto the metal.

Got my 54 Eye 2 today. Played a round of golf this morning, but only did a few pitches with it before the round. It's quite a different feeling club than my MD4 so I want to practice with it a bit before putting it in play. I did use the Ping 3.0 46 degree wedge for a full swing shot and it was great. Left me 6 inches from the hole for a tap in par.

Pulled trigger today on 52 glide 3.0 to go with 56/60 eye 2 glide 3.0 and my i210 irons. Love the feel and forgiveness. Looking forward to playing a round with full set up. Played in a scramble yesterday with 56 and 60 eye 2. Hit some incredible shots with both clubs

Played my first round with my Ping Glide 3.0 wedges today. I spend about 20 minutes at the practice range yesterday just getting the feel of it and it was so easy to adjust to. Here is what I have been using;

Callaway MD4 54 and 48 degree.

This is what I bought to replace them.

Ping Glide 3.0 - 46*, 50*, and 54* Eye 2.

The 54* Eye2 is really, really nice. Works great for pitches around the green and very solid on full swing shots. I did not believe that it could provide as much spin as it does, but controlling the amount of spin when pitching onto the green is a snap. I was more than a little worried about switching out the MD4 wedges because I've been using them for a couple years, but after the round today, the Ping Glides are in the bag for now.

The TXG guy has loved the Ping wedges for a couple years now. Basically always says it's been the best wedge for him with fittings.

With the CBX's out and getting a lot of love the Glide's provide an interesting option where you get some forgivesness/perimeter weighting, high MOI, a club that is designed to blend with your irons better (lighter shafts, lighter overall weight) but with the Glides you get a head at address that is pretty much the same size as a Vokey, RTX4, MD, etc... (whereas the CBX is very noticeably larger).

Everyone thinks vokey-vokey-vokey for wedges when average players really should be giving the Glides and CBX's a shot.

I wonder how long the finish lasts before you start to see the spin numbers start to come back down. That said, if you can afford to switch prior to degradation of the finish it’s a game changer.

I've been playing the Ping Glide 3.0 (46*, 50*, and 54* Eye2) for the last dozen rounds. I've not seen any drop off due to anything. I use the 54* Eye2 5 - 10 times per round and it's been one of the most reliable wedges I've ever had. And not losing much spin when the ball or club is wet is a huge bonus. Played in some very dewey conditions and they just PERFORM. I played the Callaway MD4 previously and as much as I liked them, the Eye2 is just an all around performer.

Not sure but I've played about 6 rounds and quite a few range sessions and they look brand new. I think it will be a solid 2 or 3 years before they look bad. The finish is really good with hydropearl 2.0

I'm still playing the original Glides and they spin just fine. I probably will upgrade to the 3.0's next year.

3 or so weeks and about 25 rounds in I'm not noticing any degradation at all. Even on the 54 which has been in the sand with me a bunch. We had a ton of rain yesterday, played in wet conditions last night, was still getting great spin with both the 54 and the 58.

i have the 3.0s in 54 and 58, both 14 degree bounce. the forgiveness of the wedge and bounce have been nice with all the wet FL weather instead of digging and chunking :-)

I'm very lucky. I work from home with a very flexible schedule, live a mile from the course I'm a member of, the kids are all grown, and my wife plays golf. A typical week for me is 18 on Tuesday, 9 on Wednesday for league, 18 on Thursday while the wife plays her league, 9 or 18 on Friday, Saturday/Sunday 18 in the morning with the guys, 9 or 18 with the wife in the afternoon. Monday could be a day off, 9, or 18, depending on outside events at the club. I've played as many as 22 days in a row this summer.

  • 2 weeks later...

My Arccos chipping handicap is down 10 strokes to an 11 since changing from two PM Grinds (54 & 58) to Ping Glide 3.0 ( 52 SS Grind and 56 Eye 2). I bought the PMs because they were great from the bunker and flop shots but I realized I had no confidence in doing anything else with them. The Eye 2 gives me the same confidence from the sand and I can hit full shots and I’m getting so much better with the delicate shots around the green. I’m very happy with them.

I am being drawn the the glide 3.0s. I just wish there was a 64 degree option.
