The point is that it gives a shorter hitter a more player type profile club with more forgiveness and higher launch so that they can hit the same number club on the bottom that their playing partner or person they are watching on tv is hitting their P730/750/760. I'm a high launch high spin player so this brings it down for me to more optimal numbers but they are just too long and give crazy gaps in the short irons with the 7 iron carrying 195-200 yards, otherwise I'd like playing something this easy to hit and forgiving.

I hit the 7 iron with Recoil. From address, they look fantastic. I wasn't striking them that well so I didn't see huge distance over my X Hot Pro's, but from a looks perspective, I loved them. I can see myself with an iron like that. I've been loving the Spider Mini Copper. Dare I say, the dark side is winning me over.

Got my set last week too. Custom fit with Nippon NS950 S. Numbers look great during the fitting, I hope they live up to expectations!

Some good points raised about launch v spin but the lack of gapping on the long irons always troubles me with clubs like these. Particularly when it comes with double whammy of big gaps in the short irons.

 

Ignoring that, the profile and look is top notch.

Like the possibilities of the 4 iron, in lieu of the UDI. These are not small clubs, though. Compared them against my old Mizuno's MX-300s (mid handicapper specials) and they look decidedly large. Not my cup of tea. Carry on.

same experience as you - good friend of mine is low single digit and games these, I had to bend them 3* weaker to get his ballflight high enough to hold greens. This was after I put in nippon 105 to further increase ballflight. have had to correct the same issue with friends who have bought PXGs.

 

not hating on strong lofts though - there's clearly a customer demand for it and it isn't my business what people choose to play. but i do think that the modern iron set has been more optimized for the in-store launch monitor rather than the actual golf course.

held these in the store today and got to see the short irons and they look fantastic! Might have to give these a go
