Fujikura HY Hybrid Shaft?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Does anyone know what a Fujikura HY hybrid shaft is? I was about to order a used JPX-900 2 hybrid until at the last moment I noticed the looks deceived me and it wasn't the Fujikura Pro 73 shaft I have in a 4 hybrid I bought a couple of weeks ago but a HY shaft.

I can't find any information on the shaft online and I'd like to know the weight for the stiff shaft and if it plays and feels anything similar to the Pro 73.

Thank you for your help in advance!

I have one in my Mizuno CLK. These are Speeder-model hybrid shafts that saw the light of day for about an hour at retail. There is a thread here concerning them from a couple of years ago that I have linked below. Basically, Fuji was full steam ahead on these and then they released the ATMOS Tour Spec line of wood shafts and saw some crazy sales with it and decided a matching hybrid line would probably serve them better. Smart decision, IMO. I am a huge Fuji Pro 73 hybrid fan and from what I can muster it feels very close to it, if not a touch smoother. Ball flight is mid and it is moderate spin which is great for a hybrid. I have no issues with it. It went toe to toe with the Fujikura Pro 7/8, Accra TZ6 85/TZ5 95, Tensei White 100, Graphite Design HY 85, VA Composites Raijin 84 and Slay 85 and still came out on top for accuracy and feel. Distance I got a few more yards of oomph out of a couple of them but none of them felt or flew as predictably as this one did.

Thank you for taking the time to reply to me but I'm afraid we're talking about different shafts. The Speeder HB is one of the shaft options for the CLK hybrids but the 900 I'm looking at has a Fujikura **HY** shaft.

Thank your information on the HB shaft though, I'm also looking at the CLKs and it seems like most of the used ones have the HB shaft instead of the 73 Pro.

Sorry to bring this thread back up, but I don't think I can message you for some reason @Halebopp. Did you ever find any more information about this shaft? I am looking at a club I want to buy online and it has supposedly has this same shaft. This is actually one of the only discussion threads I have found about it. It looks like it maybe came as a stock shaft for some Mizuno hybrids? Nevertheless the club I am looking at is a Callaway.
There is no info i can find about the shaft directly from Fujikura though, which is interesting. I was looking to compare it against a Aldila NV, but can't because I can't find where fujikura talks about it anywhere.
