Monte had Instagram posts of it from the PGA show and liked it.

I picked up mine today (in Australia), and my initial first impressions with are that it’s a really good product. It works really well with what I’m working on in my own swing. Definitely helps assist with feeling the correct positions of the club and fast tracking how quickly you can pick up an efficient move. I look forward to using it more, this thing could easily become one of the best things I’ve done for my game.

I fight an inside roll in my takeaway and I can really see how the plane mate would train against that by providing an immediate feel, (lack of tension), if you roll inside. It looks like a great training aid but the price is a deterrent for me. I bought some exercise band at the dollar store today as well as a couple carabiner clips. My thought is that you could tie one end of the band off to the balance point of the club and the other to a carabiner clip, (the band I got isn't a tube type of band but rather the flat elastic type that some physiotherapists use). Clip the carabiner onto a belt loop that would roughly represent the mid point of the rail and I would think as long as there is tension in the band at address and at the top of the swing, it would be close enough, considering the $5.00 investment. I haven't tried it but will report back. I'm not as concerned about the shallowing but rather the feedback on the inside takeaway, and I know I could replicate that part by clipping it to a front belt loop. From what I can see, the band needs to be short enough so that you have to push some tension into it in taking your address.

I love mine. Got it for the resale price otherwise I probably wouldn't have paid full price. Best part for me is the short game help. Really helped me with shots from 40-80 yards. Gotta follow the 7 day protocol though when you get it. It teaches about the proper feelings with the bands and how to finish correctly. Haven't stepped up to the pro band (red band) yet. I'll get to it soon though.

> Just got mine in yesterday and started the protocol. The crazy thing is how light the club feels after you get done with the protocol due to the resistance bands. The bands help for sure but not sure this would be the best tool to use right before you tee off.

On days I play, I try to use the red band w out hitting balls before I go to course. Stretches me out and ingrains the feel for the day.

Really want to try a Planemate. Sucks they take so long to get in stock and ship.

Hands down best training aid I’ve ever used. My pre tournament or Match round, I like to hit a small bucket with this. 7-10 lob wedges with the band (50-60 yards). Then take it off to entrain the feel and get used to club feeling lighter. The. 7-10 7 irons. As others have said, it feels like a punch shot. But really helps to dial in the contact. I’ve had nothing but success with it so far. Even picked up distance which is always a plus!

I'm still using mine quite regularly. I went through the seven day protocol as they suggest, however I didn't complete it in seven days as there were some days where I didn't get the chance to hit any balls; but I got through it. The good thing with the plane mate and its protocols is that if your not quite hitting it well, you can go back a few steps and get things back on track, then move forward through the steps again. I have found the more I do this the more it is helping to ingrain the feels each time, and slowly but surely I am able to get myself back on track quicker, especially on those off days. I am not spending a whole session trying to work out why I'm not hitting it as well today as I was yesterday, you simply spend a few 15 minutes or so working back through the steps, then your good to go again. IMO you spend a lot more time working on your swing rather than trying to remedy it, if that makes sense.

In regards to strike, the short answer is yes. But I think the big ticket is how the device creates consistency from one session to the next. In terms of ball flight, I have only been hitting balls into a net in my yard. I have a skytrak but I purposely haven’t been using it, as I don’t want to get distracted and start chasing numbers.

Absolutely. Ball starting way more on line. Stronger ball flight. Hitting more greens. I was struggling early this year with drop kicks and fat shots. I’ve never hit the ball better. Crispy contact with every club.

Was it hard transitioning that swing to a driver?
