Should your junior golfer have a social media presence on Instagram / FB / Twitter?

Piggybacking on this, Social Media can be a major contributing factor in pre-teen and teen suicide. Numerous cases exemplify this. Not saying this is directly related to these "pseudo-independent" junior golf accounts but if you think social media accounts are innocent you are naive beyond words.

If you watched The Great Hack on Netflix your mind would be blown by how much 'they' know about you from social media. Just within the last year data surpassed oil in value... your data is now more valuable than a tangible good.

There's definitely something more important that I should be doing.

Started watching this last night. Mind blowing. When you agree to the terms by the social media sites, you have given the world the right to own your info.

I am GenX.  If you really think I care about what you have to say, I don't.

Been in the IT or technical industry for 25 years. I will personal never have social media or 3rd party apps.

I watched most of the movie last night. Curious though, did Jane Doe die or was she just drunk off her ass? Also, it seems if the journalist and the crime blogger didn't get involved, the whole ordeal could have easily been swept under the rug. Both those scumbags should have been tried as adults.

The white kid was a scum bag. He was released and in college. Was just arrested in college for sexual assault. Same type of stuff. He was not remorseful at all and just sorry he got caught.

The other kid just wasn't smart. Followed and trusted a person he shouldn't have. Peer pressure and just being stupid. He got out and is playing ball for Bo Peliini at Youngstown State as a walk on. His dad went to the courthouse and fired at the judge that sentenced him. The Judge was carrying and out him 6 foot under.

Entire story was sad. The culture was horrible.

I am GenX.  If you really think I care about what you have to say, I don't.

Time to put Thomas Guide back in biz!

Social media is a tool/channel and could be good/bad depending on how you use it. Just like a car - it’s a tool and depends on how you drive (defensive, aggressive). I don’t recommend posting your location especially places that you frequent a lot.

Just like anything else, you have to be careful. I don’t let my daughter go to the bathroom alone even at a nice golf course. Either I’ll accompany her or she’ll go with her friends. That’s just my personal preference.
