What clubs in your bag ARE safe?

> Irons are safe, best all round iron I've ever used, I do swap the AW & SW out for Engage 50 and 54 degree options from time to time though. Depending on the course I also swap the 3 and 4 irons out for the corresponding Nike Covert Hybrids. The driver and 5 wood are almost ever present, but when I get an OCD attack I put the Covert driver and 5 wood in. The only real moving club in the bag ATM is the putter, I used an Odyssey 2 Ball DFX for almost 15 years but recently started looking for a replacement as it is very worn now and I am looking to go with a Odyssey #9 type (Nike Method 003 preferrably, but they're hard to find, especially in the UK).

Update: I got hold of a Nike Method Mod 60 (milled version of the 003) and it seems to be working well. As mentioned above, i took the Covert driver and 5 wood out a couple of rounds ago and just confirmed to myself that the M2 and X2 Hot options would be returning as they just work that little bit better.

My Cleveland Huntington Beach putter #4. Everytime I go to roger Dunn I swing the Newport 2 and ask myself why don’t I just splurge and buy it. Than I swing the Cleveland and I am happy with my purchase.

M4 5 wood

2017 M2 5HL (-1 inch)

Odyssey RSX Milled Putter safe right now.. also some sort of S Grind Vokey 54 although I get one with fresh grooves every year. I’m kind of thinking the G410 may have some staying power for awhile even though I normally try every new driver at least once. 410 is a bomber though and so forgiving

Titleist TSR4 Graphite Design Tour AD GP-6X

Titleist TSi3 15 Mitsubishi Tensei AV Raw White 75X

Callaway Apex UW 19 Project X HZRDUS RDX 80 6.5

I really like my hybrids so the Nickent 3ds 3h and my TM M1 2017 4h will stay. I also have an old Spalding putter with tape to keep the grip from cracking further, but that goes from one bag to the next. Lastly a Titleist 56 wedge that has become a bag favourite. The rest....

Bag 1: 2h: Srixon ZX4h: TM M1 ('17) ; Irons: MD Golf 7i & 9i, Wedges: RTX full face 52o & 58o; Putter: Spalding Pro Flite

Bag 2: 3h: Nickent 3dx; 3i: Cobra One-Length utility; 7i: TM M4; 8/9i: Inesis 500; Wedges: AW: TM RSi (50o); Cleveland RTX full face 54o; RTX 588 60o; Putter: Ping

Honestly, all of mine (weird to say). I was struggling with the driver, but took 3/4" off of the end of it and it has been a game changer. Only change might be new wedges, but more so because mine are fairly high miles on them, will replace them with the same loft/grind combos I currently play.

Ping G430 Max KaiLi White 60 Stiff (9 degree)
Cobra King RAD 3 Wood Fujikura Motore X F3 Stiff (14.5 degree setting)
Mizuno CLK Hybrid (19 and 22 degree, I swap them out depending on the wind in the parking lot)

Mizuno JPX-921 Hot Metal Pro 4-5 Irons - KBS Tour Regular Flex Steel Shafts

Mizuno JPX-921 Forged 6 Iron - G Wedge - KBS Tour Regular Flex Steel Shafts
Titleist SM9 54 and 58
Scotty Cameron Phantom X6 CS (34")

P790s are going nowhere and Spider X are going nowhere. Wedges will stay because they are literally brand new. Driver will probably be upgraded next season. Hybrid and 3wd are pretty solid too.

I would think putter as I only have 4, and like my Abbie. Other than that, I just change whole bags for the heck of it and how I feel. Just picked up 2 mint V-Steels (glues dying on reshaft) so bringing out the Older Taylormade gear bag (except hybrid and wedges until I get some Fe's).

What's In The Ping Moonlite:
Ping Rapture '14 13*
Ping Rapture DI 18*

  • 1 month later...

Im a nut case. Been thinking about replacing my M4 3HL the last month, cause I feel I cant control it, had a few bad shots from the tee lately. Then Ive been thinking that it might just be cause the shaft is too long (43.25), but before I decided to cut it a Cobra F6 baffler turned up in very good condition (been wanting to try it since it came out but for some reason havent, other clubs came up) the other night so I bought that. Havent got it yet, so not decided what to do, but its like this all the time: something interesting turns up and I feel the urge to sell and buy a new. Ive been saying to my self all season that the M45HL has been one of the best buys ever, and still a few weeks ago I found myself surfing hybrids.... This has to stop. So safest club in the bag right now? My i210s. Only a few months old, but really happy with them. My Ping Bronze Anser will stay as well. Love it. But you never know..I need help.

Irons (MP-5) for sure. Next would be my 3 Hybrid (Ping G410), followed by Putter (Scotty Cameron Newport 2.5) and Driver (Ping G400 LST). My 3 wood and wedges won’t be safe for long.

Driver: PING G410 LST, Ping Tour 65X

3 Wood: PING G400, Project x EvenFlow Blue 75 6.5

3 Hybrid: PING G410, Ping Tour 85 X

Irons: Mizuno MP-5 (4-PW), Dynamic Gold X100

Wedges: PING Glide (50SS, 54WS, 58ES), Dynamic Gold Tour Issue S400

Putter: Scotty Cameron Newport 2.5

Ball: Taylormade TP5 (Pix or Yellow)

My Vokeys are safe, haven't found myself in a single situation where I wished I had something else.

The Titleist 910 three wood and hybrid are safe

I cannot for the life of me settle on irons, I'm testing some 919 tours in the long irons and may consider a full set.

Driver - Taylormade SIM 10.5°

3 wood - Titleist 910f 15°

Hybrid- Titleist 910h°

Irons - Mizuno 919 Tour 4 - PW

Wedges - Titleist SM7 51 / 55 / 60 DG

Putter - Yes! Callie

Ball - Titleist Pro v1x

My bag is in my sig below and I'm currently doing my best to replace that old Titleist driver. I'm testing a Callaway Rogue, it's a good ten yards longer than the 910 but horribly ugly to look down at. I'm not convinced that it's worth it yet but the Titleist should maybe start thinking about getting another gig.

As for the rest of the bag thay are all safe. Maybe, maybe the 52° wedge should be worried that I find the holy grail, an AP2 710 "W" wedge.

Hey chopper, what are you hitting there?
Callaway Rouge Sub Zero 9°
TM SLDR S 17° 4-wood
Mizuno MP Fli-Hi 21° driving iron

Dynacraft (?) 24° 4-iron
Titleist AP2 710 5-pw
Wilson FG Tour PMP 52, 56, 60°
Rife 460 Tour Blade

After how long does being "out of form" turn into "a bad golfer"?
