Ping I210 Long Term Reviews - Anyone?

Update: It’s a couple of weeks later and I’ve played several more rounds with the i210. I like them more and more. I’m finding that I can work them easily, which is something that was a primary concern. Punch shots work well, both cutting and hooking, and flighting them up is also very do-able. Feel is good. I don’t find them Mizzy soft, perhaps not even close, but they do feel soft. I was also concerned about the progressive offset. Oddly, it has not adversely affected my ability to fade the ball, most notably with a long iron. Fades just fine. The 4 iron is actually easy to flush, not unlike a 7 iron, imho. Still considering lie angle adjustments but will play further into the season before making that call. For now, I’ve adjusted my swing. Was getting too toe up anyway.

I have them for a few months and they are not leaving the bag anytime soon. For a cast iron, they feel awesome and look even better at address. I have red dot with Modus tour 105-S shafts.

My index has gone down 2-3 strokes this year, including my career best, 1 over, 73.

I normally score 1-2 rounds in the 70's. I am at 10 before August 1st.

Just put some i210's in the bag. Coming from 718 AP2 and PXG 0311T. Really enjoying the 210's with PX LZ 6.0. They don't feel forged obviously but center strikes feel good enough and the forgiveness is off the charts for what you're looking down at from the top.

I just purchased a set of i210. 4-PW. Black dot. DG 120 s300. Love the feel and forgiveness. Kept switching between G410 irons and a set of forged blades. Thought I would slip the difference. All PING bag again.

G410 Plus drive

G410 lst 3 wood

G410 5 wood

I210 4-PW

Glide 3.0 50, eye 2 56&60

Sigma G Tyne

Really looking forward to playing a round. Really like the flight, feel and forgiveness of the i210. Really loving the PW.

Had a set with DG120 that I never quite got along with. Moved to Z785 for awhile but missed the forgiveness and dispersion of Ping. Picked up a set of i210 with PX LZ 6.0 and never looked back. Long, accurate, forgiving, great feel, great looks. I don’t know how Ping can possibly improve on these, but I’m sure they’ll come up with something.

What was it about the px shafts that worked better for you. I'm debating both those shafts in the i210 irons.

Sorry for the delay getting back to you. Just had our third baby and moving on Friday. Life is a little crazy!

I picked up a few yards and have tighter dispersion with the PX. Don’t have numbers to back it up, but seems like my spin dropped a bit. No problem holding greens though. One hop and stop. Trajectory might be a hair flatter with the PX, but that could be my imagination. Feel a little smoother too. Overall the differences are minor, but everything seems to click with the current setup. Plus the PX just look cool lol.

Thanks and congrats on the new addition.

The px do look cool and I'm hoping to get to try them in some i210 irons soon.

Thanks again

Had a set for a couple of months and just sold them. Had 4-U with DG 120 S300's. When I first tested them indoors they were great. Once I got them out on the course the honeymoon period ended quickly. Don't get me wrong, they are some of the best looking irons behind the ball on the market. But coming from a forged iron really ruined the feel for me after a couple of rounds. And the turf interaction was off as well. Glad I did the experiment and was able to sell them for what I bought them for. I'd chalk these up to beautiful driving range irons for my swing.

I went to a local store last week to check out the Ping i500 but ended up getting the i210 with modus shaft. The i210 felt softer and better than the i500 and dispersion was good and distance was more consistent. I also tried Srixon and while it felt softer, the i210 seemed more forgiving. I played with i210 at Torrey Pines and I'm happy with it so far. But I couldn't score well because the greens were recently aerated. Playing Torrey again next week and hopefully the greens will be a little bit better and my honeymoon period doesn't end quickly. :)

Shot a 75 today with new i210. Hit some great shots and a few crappy ones. Had a swing issue first 9 that was making me hook all my shots. Found i210 easy to work. Best example was 132 yards to flag, tree in the way. Hit a 9 iron fade to 6 inches for birdie.

I just switched from g410 to i210. My honeymoon period with the 410’s was sweet but short lived. The 210’s are noticeably softer and I’ve actually picked up a few yards. Maybe it was going from the kbs tour to the dg 120 has lowered some spin for me. I feel like i can be a little more aggressive with the way the clubs sits, for me. I got lazy with the 410’s. All my fault and my swing.

My bag is now set. Mark it down. I said it. No new clubs until 2022. Done.....

probably.

Played again with i210. Still can’t seem to figure out my distances. I think I have them dialed in and then bam. Fly a 130 yard pin with the PW. I am getting some crazy carry distances so far with i210. They seem very hot.

But so far I am pretty happy. Shot 78 today. I will take 75 and 78 back to back. Gonna okay again tomorrow. I really struggled with my driver today and fairways.

I210 are longer for me as well. Finding exact same experience as you. I am struggling with distance control at moment. When I think I know max carry, I end up finding out I haven’t got it down yet lol. I think I am finding my groove though. It’s taken a few rounds and couple range sessions but I’ve found where they like to be hit and made some adjustments to my stance/ball position. Could never find the sweet spot on G410. They felt awful most of the time.

I recently picked up some i210’s from the BST NOT in my specs - 2* up and 1/2” longer. I’ve been fit twice in past with standard L/L but bc I got a good deal on them I figured I’d get them adjusted. Anyways, I shot my personal best round the other day - 81 with 12 GIR. I still haven’t gotten them adjusted but after what I’m seeing I’m loving everything about these. High, long, strait, and easy to hit out of rough. I did just pick up some iblades bc I’m a HO, but man it’s gonna take a lot to kick these baby’s out of my bag.

Can't speak to long term but I recently switched from I E1 with DG S300s to I210 with Modus3 105x and after one round I didn't have the same level or soreness in my hands after a round. Flight was definitely higher but straight. I like both sets at address but these clubs are in the bag for a long time!

I've had the i210s for almost a year now. I still like them a lot. They are a very solid feeling iron. I switched from i20s with Modus 3 120S shafts. The i20s are more accurate for me and I hit fewer surprise hooks. I also like that there is very little offset in 4-6 irons compared to the i20s. I get a kick out of folks asking advice about why someone chose DG S300 or PX-LZ or Modus shafts, or whether the i210s are longer than the i20s. Get the shaft that fits you, not someone else, and don't worry about distance versus another set. It's more important to control distance, trajectory and direction with a given iron than to max out how far you can hit a 7-iron. If you choose the i210s and a proper shaft for your swing they are very controllable.

Wow. Last week I just got my set of i210’s in the EXACT same specs. We should probably consider becoming best friends. I got the setup because I was also getting soreness in the joints of my hands with my previous set and have also found it has really helped.

Lol @ PowderedToastMan, well I can say after my 2nd round with them the hands felt great again. I actually had the GP Tour Cord grip put on em and I was worried that would be too harsh on my hands but it's been great (even though I'm still on the honeymoon). I think I noticed how much smoother I am swinging these versus the IE1 w/ DG S300s. To me, distances between the two are pretty comparable but the lofts are only 1 degree stronger on the IE1s but the feel at impact is so much nicer.

Just kicked my 718 AP2s out of the bag. Slightly more forgiving, similar profile at address, sole fits my swing a bit more. I’m excited to get them out on the course!
