Cameron Collector Site registration

I was wondering if anybody has registered on the Cameron Collectors site lately? I tried on June 7th and was sent an email saying they would review my registration and send another email when I was confirmed. I have not heard anything else from them. I decided to try it again under another username. Got the same email to play the waiting game. Does anybody know how long it takes for them to get back to you for the confirmation?

I never recieved my confirmation either. I just decided to try to log on one day and it worked

I tried that too, and it didn't work for me. If it won't for bad luck..............

I just registered last week and it took around three days to get a confirmation email giving me access.

Flip, I had the same issue several months ago. I had to try it again and I finally gained access. Don't remember if I ever received an email, but I think my login info just worked one day.

I had the same issue. Sent some PMs on this site and got an email from a mod. Then finally got access. They are hard to get in contact with. If I can find the email I'll PM you.

It took me a week to get registration approved last month.

Thanks everyone for ringing my bell. I have another Cameron putter coming and forgot I joined the Cameron Collector Site in 2010. Just went into it and looking forward to some good reading!!!! Thanks again for the wakeup!!!!

It takes a while for them to conduct your credit check. They need to maintain their elite status.

I think the week of Aug 5 is when this started. Sent a PM to sell goods and the next day it went offline. They have a twitter account too, but vague info on the shutdown time frame.

Not gone like it will never come back. But gone as in all the historical threads are wiped out. I've been a member of other boards that switched servers or upgraded their website platform and lost everything. Had to start over from scratch.

 

I don't know this for certain though. Just passing along what I've heard.

 

If the people who run TCC were more transparent we'd know more. But then that crowd has never been transparent about anything.

Not in the least bit. There is a great deal of really good info there. Can't see any need to cleanse.

What do you mean "crowd"? I've been a member for over 10 years and while I'd agree that transparency from some site leadership has a lot to be desired I get annoyed when folks refer to the "crowd" as anything. Its a diverse mix with good and questionable personalities. Like any and ALL web forums.

I've also heard it MAY not come back. Honestly, if the history is lost there really isn't a point bringing it back. That, and connections with other collectors, was the only value it had. New releases, BST, etc are all abundant elsewhere on the net. What will suck is not being able to connect with some folks as not everyone has the Facebook.
