Stevie Ray Vaughan, D.A.R. Constitution Hall, Washington, DC - Jun 29, 1985. Sound was so terrible I vowed to never attend another concert.

Went to Gary Clark Jr last night in Vancouver. Venue was switched from the old hockey arena to a small outdoor venue beside downtown. Happy it did. Perfect night for it, couldnt have asked for anything better. One of the best guitarists i have witnessed. Dude rips.

    Metallica

Saw Metallica with Avenged Sevenfold and Volbeat last year. Amazing show. I'm not a huge A7X fan, but they did put on a good live show. Volbeat is up there on the top of my list and they were fantastic. Metallica (specifically black album and older) ARE the top of my list, and they played plenty of their older stuff. They were incredible live. Even their new music was good live.

I almost went to this in Houston, but decided against it last minute. I love Volbeat, I like Slipknot, but Bohemoth and Gojira are just meh to me. I didn't want to fight the crowd at the Woodlands for a concert where I only wanted to see 1 of the bands. And since I didn't know where they were in the line-up, I didn't want to have to sit through Gojira and Bohemoth to get to them, and I certainly didn't want to drag my wife through them for it either.

I just saw Mark Knopfler at the Greek Theater in Berkeley. Awesome performance! Dude just turned 70 years old, still has a great voice, and has always been one of the best guitarist ever. Glad I got to see him because it might be his last tour.

Holy Wars featuring my pal Kat Leon in Hollywood just a couple weeks ago.

    She's simply amazing.

It's a rare occasion I get out to shows these days. After so many years as a working musician in Los Angeles, it's just ... not fun to me anymore. But there're some friends I'll always go see. She's one of them.

My oldest daughter and I saw Phil Collins in Denver tonight at The Pepsi Center. Not a huge setlist but he covered many huge hits from his Genesis and solo days. It was a terrific concert.

At present that wraps up my 2019 concert season (but you never know). I saw the following this year:

    Joe Jackson
    Kansas
    Brit Floyd
    Doobie Brothers/Santana
    Billy Joel
    Bonnie Raitt
Heart with Joan Jett and the Blackhearts and with Elle King
    Phil Collins

Next up is next March (Colin Hay)

My last concert was in San Diego on December 8th. I took my wife to see her top bucket list concert, Andrea Bocelli. What a true priviledge it was to see such a talented singer perform with such accomplished accompanists.

Many concerts attended, especially at the EPCOT American Pavilion. Artists include Herman’s Hermits, Los Lobos, Night Ranger, Dennis DeYoung(Styx), etc etc. Dennis DeYoung’s band was one of the best I’ve heard in person. Back in the day my friends and I went to a venue in Chicago called The Kinetic Playground. We saw Joe Cocker and the Grease Band, The Who and Buddy Rich and his Orchestra. Joe Cocker and his band must’ve been drunk, high or both. They were awful. If you were in a garage band, your band was much better. The Who was fantastic and loud. Buddy Rich and his Orchestra received standing ovation after standing ovation. They were clearly the favorite of all the hippie-types and were the only band to do an encore. Their encore song was ‘Alfie’. Yet another standing ovation. Good times.
