Diamana ZF Photos and Info

TollBros

Recommended Posts

Some pics of the new Diamana ZF coming out soon. This thing is absolutely GORGEOUS. Silver ion plating and prism graphics. I think everyone in the facility wanted one the second they showed up for testing. Truly an A+ from Mitsubishi on this one.

I will put up some testing info soon. Overall, very positive.

And YES we have them for sale right now. DM for pricing and availability.

For the first time ever, Mitsubishi Chemical is adding a fourth profile to their popular Diamana™ Fourth Generation Series. The new Diamana™ ZF builds on the success of the Diamana™ BF and provides the perfect option for players looking to push their distance farther.

“Diamana™ ZF-Series takes the signature ‘smooth’ bend profile that makes our BF-Series the shaft of choice for so many players and pushes it in just the right places,” says Mark Gunther, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for MCA GOLF. “The result is a profile that makes ZF a little more explosive and easier to accelerate.”

Like all of their Diamana™ Fourth Generation Series predecessors, Diamana™ ZF shafts owe their carefully calibrated stiffness and stability to two unique technologies: MR70 carbon fiber material, and Boron fiber.

MR70, used in both the butt and tip sections, is 20% stronger than conventional materials, with a 10% greater modulus (a measure of stiffness). This is bolstered by Boron fiber in the tip section to create the exact EI curve desired.

When compared to Diamana™ BF-Series, the Diamana™ ZF-Series shafts are a moderately stronger and more stable in both the butt and tip ends, with a slightly softer and more active middle for better energy transfer and acceleration. This produces a shaft that is incredibly solid during transition at the top of the swing and through impact, but with smooth speed and a lively feel.

Adding to the excitement around Diamana™ ZF-Series is the inclusion of 40g version, the lightest Fourth Generation Shaft offered to date.

“We’re extremely happy to have a 40g option within Diamana™ ZF,” says Gunther. “This opens the performance benefits of these unique Mitsubishi Chemical materials to a whole new range of players who prefer to play an ultra-lightweight shaft.”

Diamana™ ZF-Series are ideal for any player looking to increase clubhead acceleration while maintaining stability and control through impact.

No. It's stiffer in tip and butt with a softer mid section. It has a great sensation to it. Almost like a catepult. Launch is similar to a blueboard but the spin is lower. Very unique profile but something very satisfying in terms of feel.

Sounds like mca’s competition to the ventus..?

Looks like on paper it has similar EI profile to the Ventus blue, being mid lauch and low spin. I've tried the 7X in the Ventus blue and just ordered a 70TX ZF so I'm interested to compare. The smoothness of a Diamana is hard to beat

Except the Ventus Blue has a soft butt section. Either way, the ZF should be crazy popular!

Yup, was a little too soft for my liking. Agreed on ZF, expect to see it in many bags come September.

We've had 16 orders just since Tuesday morning for these. By far the hottest Diamana release in awhile for us.

Your 2.0 is really more like a Tensei Pro White in that the handle is soft and the tip is quite stiff, with the mid section also being pretty tight. ZF is stiff tip, stiff handle, but with a mid section that is softer and loads up more. What it reminds me of when I hit it is sort of a blueboard/whiteboard type combo. Low spin, mid launch, smoother feeling. It's unique in a very positive way.

intrigued - i liked the DF a lot - but in order to get the feel i was looking for i had to tip it quite a bit. is the ZF similar in that aspect? how stiff is the tip section?

Tip stiffness is close to the DF. However the butt is much stiffer. I think you'll find it feels more stable overall just because of the stiffness in the handle.

that wouldn't be a bad thing to be honest...hmm. so it would feel like a more stable yet, a bit more load-feel, with similar spin? (ie a bit of launch with more stable feel and similar spin)...could be good.

Pardon my ignorance but how do I view your products/inventory and place an order? I've clicked the link in your post, which appears to just take me to your area of the forum, but I still can't see anything other than your posts about certain products. Not counterbalanced on ZF - it’s built off the BF profile, sounds like they moved around the MR70 carbon and boron to make tip and butt a stiffer profile with softer mid for smooth loading. I personally found that I had to exert a lot of energy to load the Tensei PO - I’m expecting the ZF to be the opposite. Diamana profiles I’ve found to be more a balance between smooth and stable.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was, stiffer butt sections usually require more material which = more weight.

It is interesting, although not surprising, that the stiff/soft/stiff design is getting even more attention. It basically put Fujikura, Graphite Design, and Oban on the map and I imagine this is calculated given that Project X seems to have thrown a lot of their weight into the stiff mid designs with most of the HZRDUS line.

Im curious on what the differences in the zf and mcas blue profile are as they both sound very similar, soft mids. zf maybe stiffer in the tip?

Slightly different profile on Pro Blue, higher spin compared to ZF. Different materials and technology in these 2 as well - I believe one of big differences in the tip is the use of MR70 in the ZF which is a much stronger than the carbon used in Pro Blue and with lower modulus. To my knowledge Diamana is MCA’s flagship product so more selective in materials, etc - I even think Diamana is completely made in Japan where Tensei is China.

From what I’m gathering, ZF was built off the BF’s smoothness so I expect it have the overall similar feel but lower spin. JT said it feels catapult like but with stability. Itching for mine to arrive.
