Bridgestone Tour balls down in price

I have just started playing the BRX, and noticed Bridgestone balls are down in price. Is 2020 there new generation year the reason why?

Probably. They have a ~2y product cycle on their balls and it’s been ~2 years. This has been a very good product cycle for them; 35/dz is a great price.

I play mainly the tour B xs and pro v1 and for me I get the same performance, i like the feel of the 2 balls. I'm sure someone with more knowledge and experience playing the pro v1x can provide better technical info on the balls. Different brand but the newer Srixon Z star XV and the Pro V1x, higher comp.

Yes there is a new BS ball soon to be released.They won't even talk about the model name but did say " yes".

The current Tour B line hit retail in October 2017, but Bridgestone has been a bit inconsistent with their product cycles compared to some of the other OEMs (last B330 line hit retail March of 2016 which was ~18 months and I recall the 2008 version running for 3 years). But you are probably right that something new is coming soon given the price reduction.

Tour Bx has higher launch and lower spin with firmer feel. XS is lower launch, more spin, and softer.

 

So they don’t quite align with the ProV1 and ProV1x, but if you like the ProV1x, try the tour bx first, it still spins a ton off wedges and is sooooooo long and low spin off woods.

Don't change the B XS. It perfect for my game. I love that ball.

The only thing that could improve it is to get better paint adhesion or durability on the outer cosmetic layer.

Just ordered 2 dozen BXS to add to the dozen already waiting to get used. I tried to change to the new TP5 at the start of the season -- the BXS is just better for my game. Time to stock up!

Love the BXS so much... great feel, control, distance... the durability is lacking a little though but for $35/dz I wouldn't care much. Amazon says "not available" but I am sure my Roger Dunn has them cheaper as well. Great ball.

I've found the durability to be great, much better than Pro Vx + Chromesoft I have sleeves of in my bag. I picked up the Tiger version from UK and I can play 36+ holes without even a sniff of a scuff. If I were in US I would be hoarding them at the prices you guys are getting.

If I don't hit it towards any trouble they are fine but I have caught a couple tree limbs last few rounds out, even a cart path or two and they are basically done... XVs don't do that for me, but I much prefer the feel and sound of the BXS. It's not enough to hold me back from playing them, just something I have noticed.
