Just got back from the area about a month ago. If you don’t mind driving, I highly recommend World Woods and Streamsong. Streamsong was legit, first class everything. Played the Blue course and had a great time. Had Jax on the bags and he was great for my wife (new to golf) and I. Food was great at Bone Valley Tavern and reasonably priced for what you get. Service from Brandon and Brooke at BVT was awesome too

Pine Barrens at World Woods was probably as enjoyable as Streamsong. The price was great, $45. The clubhouse is old and kind of run down but that’s not what you’re there for. Course conditions were decent but the layout was awesome, just a flat out fun round. The starter let us play as a twosome which was great too.

If you don’t want to drive TPC Tampa Bay was pretty good. The course was pretty dry and in ok shape, we got a good deal on Golfnow so that made it better. If we had to pay full price I probably would have been a bit upset at the condition. Clubhouse was nice and the restaurant was good but pricey.

Hope this helps.

Streamsong is probably the one that you will ge the most. I have not played it, but have buddies that have played all 3 and it's a destination kind of spot.

I have played **World Woods**...Pine Barrens is outstanding. Rolling Oaks imo is not really special, but it's a nice track to get in 36. About 50 mins or so from the north side of town so factor some travel time, but it's well worth it.

**Lake Jovita**...Dade City area...just north of Tampa in E. Pasco county. The South course...really no weaknesses to the lay out and far more elevation chance than you'd ever imagine in FL. The North Course...almost the equal to the south, but it's doesn't have the old oak trees with the spanish moss draping. My brother-inlaw was a member there and played it many times with him. The grand plan was to take this property 100% private, once the economy crashed, they just never got the headcount up to that critical mass to do it so they are still open for play.

That's 72 worthy holes.

If you are planning on World Woods, throw in Southern Dunes Golf Club. Just down the road. Also Black Diamond Ranch is also in the area and you should be able to get on that time of year.

I will be in St. Pete and Orlando in mid October. If you only had a chance for 1 round in the area what would it be? Probably won't do Streamsong as I know you have to stay on site to book a tee time in advance. I will be by myself. I am leaning towards Pine Barrens right now.

Pretty good choice when mixing in cost and how nice the course is.

I don’t think you have to stay at Streamsong to book a tee time.
