From what I have seen the finish on these drivers is pretty bad. It will chick and scratch very easily. Other than that, I think it will be a great performing, simple driver for your higher handicap players.

I obviously haven't swung this club yet, but I can certainly vouch for the 2018 Launcher HB driver. It is a fantastic club. Long, straight, and easy as hell to hit.

Those of you worried about the lack of adjustability, or the slightly closed club face should set your reservations aside. If you can put a decent swing on the ball, these clubs perform!

The only problem that I see is the length of the shaft - and I'm not sure how cutting it down might impact things with the counter-weighting they have built in to this model.

With the 2018 Launcher HB, I simply choke down on it an inch and a half and swing away. Works perfectly.

I would caution everyone against assuming that the Launcher HB drivers and woods are designed for "high handicap players." Utter nonsense. These clubs fit and perform for a wide variety of golfers. I'm a single digit and the 2018 Launcher HB works wonderfully for me.

Relax man, I was giving my impression. They fit the bill for new golfers. No confusing adjustments, fairly lightweight, even the standard heard appears to be pretty draw biased. I am not bashing your favorite toy..

I do not find them erroneous, or assumptions. My experience is as real world as it gets. I held it in my hands and I hit balls (real balls) myself...Friend.

I never said it was "only" for high handicappers, just that it would fit them well.

Well, now you can say things like: "Based on its design and stock shaft - as well as my own limited experience - I assume that it would fit high-cappers, but I've heard of at least one low handicap player for whom it performs very well."

That model probably does have a closed face. It looks like they currently only have pics of the _draw model_. I'd assume that the regular model is more square.

Not according to what I read on another website. Cleveland is actively saying the face angle is closed.

I can confirm that the face angle on the 2018 Launcher HB is slightly closed and it seems like they have carried this over into the 2020 models. But seriously, if you are willing to set aside your preconceived notions and hit the thing a few times, you quickly notice that it is capable of hitting any shot you want. Put a good swing on it, and it performs. I have no reason to believe the 2020 models are any different.

Knowing WRX as I do, I get the aversion to these clubs. Cleveland is obviously going in a different direction than the majority of OEMs. I can think of few clubs that are less cool in WRX terms.

But check my sig...maybe I'm not a true WRXer. I'm just a guy who has played this game for over 30 years, likes to play golf well, and recognizes that equipment is only a part of the equation.

I also deeply respect Cleveland Golf and what they have done for the game. I'm glad Srixon has deliberately chosen to continue Cleveland's legacy of incredibly good clubs at "reasonable" prices.

And full disclosure, I won the 2018 Launcher HB that I am playing from WRX. First brand new driver I've owned since the Titleist 975 JVS I bought back in the late 90s - for about the same price!

Am very anxious to hit these new Cleveland Launcher HB Turbo clubs (driver and fairways). That said, I just picked up a set of Launcher HB irons (4-PW) and really like them a lot. So, if I add the HB Turbo driver, 3W and 5W, I'm going to have a gap between the 5W and 4H ... with no 7W in the new line and no 3H for my Launcher HBs, is Cleveland going to be releasing some HB Turbo hybrids as they did with the first HB line? Just curious ...

EDIT: Just saw this morning the announcement Cleveland made about releasing a Halo set of hybrids later this Fall ... so I guess I now have an option to fill the gap between the 5W and 4H ... cool.
