I watched all 7 days of the instruction and I believe it will because it promotes syncing your arms and your body so you’re rotating through the shot, with the added feel of that tension in the band.

I watched another unrelated video from Monte the other day where he said he practices hitting 100 yard PW shots to help him sync his arms and body together. I feel like this device will also help promote that same thing.

I asked Martin Chuck, and he said it helps the flat guys, get the club up on the backswing and maintain width.

I really like the look of this and am very interested in it but I have one concern - could you become too used to swinging with it?

What I mean by that is, obviously the idea is you feel the tension in the backswing but if you then try and play without it, how does that feeling of no tension feel for you? Would you slip into old habits? Would you take it away too steeply as you're trying to feel for that tension that isn't there?

I've probably explained that terribly lol, but hopefully someone understands.

A bit like those putting rails you can get where you slide your putter head a long it. All well and good, but how do you react when you don't have the rail to guide you.

I see what you're saying. By not feeling the tension will you go back to your original swing, etc. Mine says it's being delivered today. I will let you know what my thoughts are on it as well

The concept is that it trains the feel so even after you take it off the feeling is still there. Iirc either Martin chuck or David woods posted on Instagram that even 30 mins after using it they could still feel the movement in the swing from the tension

After taking off the belt, the tension from the bands retains the feel in your arms for at least 10 mins( kind of hard to describe it in words but your arms will shallow not matter how hard you try not to). I think the key with it is to take it slowly. Work on half swings, 3/4 and full swings by using the band and then alternating by removing the band. Also swing without ball and with ball. I have been using it for a week and I can now feel when I yank the handle in transition. It’s something one has to constantly work on till it becomes a subconscious move ( that could be a month or more depending the time you dedicate to it and your brains ability to learn new movement patterns) .

I am excited about the coming months. Being steep and stalling in transition has been my issue for years and I am hoping this will mitigate it to some extent.

IMO I believe the Planemate’s biggest benefit comes from the chipping band. For most golfers that suck the club inside to behind the takeaway I would think that using the chipping/pitching band to get small swings down would be where I would want to start. If you could hit pitch shots keep the club head outside your hands you likely can continue that motion up to a full swing.

Once you have the backswing on repeat now learn to get shallow on the downswing and rotate properly through the ball

It will not disappoint. I’m scratch as well.

Have been using it last 2 weeks and just went out and shot 67. I’ve never struck the ball so well.

That’s awesome! I’m a 5.2 right now (trending down) but I need to tighten up my swing. I can’t hit a draw to save my life, which isn’t a terrible thing, but when my swing isn’t synced I am losing balls either dead nutz pull or OTT. Can’t wait to start.

My biggest fault is hitting big snap draws that start straight it slightly left, then draw off planet - I think from being too far inside then having to snap the head through to try and square it. Hoping the band resistance coming through the hitting zone will help me.

I went ahead and ordered mine today after watching the TXG video. I'm basically a beginner and decided to get better this year after retiring from bowling. I really don't see why anyone is concerned with the price. A single lesson at my local golftec costs $125. I can continue to use this as often as I want. I'd rather drop $160 on a device that improves my game than a new club that I don't know how to properly hit

Same here. Will definitely fix. Make sure you go through the protocols first! Don’t just start blasting 7 irons at the range with it. Go day by day with the protocols and you’ll be hitting it straight. You may even develop a small fade to start! Haha

Everything is so much more controlled for me now. It’s ridiculous

looking forward to it. So hard for me to fade the ball - very frustrating. Keep hearing instructors talking about hitting cuts and fades coming from the inside and I'm like uhhh whaaat.

I noticed when watching both of them also having pitches leak right kind of like what I mentioned earlier in the thread. Wondering why that is...

not enough rotation?

Just a few notes from using this for the past week.

* Similar to another post, this training aid isn't to create a swing but to create muscle memory in a favored pattern (shallowing the club).

* I've had a terrible past month with trying to hit the ball too hard (causing a very out to in, steep follow through) and this has definitely tested my patience/timing. But I have never been happier with how much I have improved in ball striking.

* I will note that in the beginning, I was very nervous in still taking a full backswing from practicing with the pitch shots/half iron swings and lost about 10-15 yards per club but with more practice and confidence, I started taking my longer backswings but with the improved shallowing transition which feels much better.

I"m not sure. But, that's why I put it away until the season is basically over and thought I'd look at it again at that point.

So far i have not had that issue doing just the pitching drills, if anything I tend to pull them a tad.

I’m not the typical over the top slicer, instead more the dumped under stall flipper and it so far does seem to help with my rotation

Just did day 1 right now and holy moly after taking the bands off, the club feels so weird and light. It’s a strange sensation for sure but I was making some d@mn crisp contact.

Same here. Currently on Day 3 of the protocols. Looks on the Tourstriker website and YouTube but didn’t see any drills for the long bands. Am I missing anything?

Yes. If you go to the site, and where the 7 day protocol is, you have to scroll through the actual videos on there, not just the hyperlinks of the videos. There is a video for the standard band and the pro band.

My thoughts exactly. The feeling you get after you take the band off is hard to explain. It’s like it’s still attached for the next few minutes.

I’ve tried all the swing aids and this is the first one I’ve tried that you can’t cheat with. You either hit it pretty flush or you barely make contact if at all.

I’ve had it for a few days and have been taking 50 or so practice swings a day. I can feel the first shallowing move at the top starting to become muscle memory. I’ve hit balls twice (some balls with it on and some without) and I’m definitely flushing more shots. On the other hand, there are more chunks, tops, etc. but these can be expected when a change is being made. The good shots are better than ever. I’m really curious to see how I feel about it in a few months.

I received mine yesterday and did the day one protocol with the short band. I have never struggled with short pitch shots or the early part of my takeaway and found it relatively comfortable and not too difficult. After taking the 30/30 routine I hit a punch of shots without. I, too, experienced the very odd sensation and almost weightlessness of the club on the takeaway most of the way through the session with the band off. My shots may have been marginally better, although as stated this is already the strength of my game.

I struggle with my swing towards the end of the backswing and transition, (body stalls, arms get steep and flip) but am following the protocol and not skipping steps as recommended. I'm hoping this is something that will finally get me getting the correct motion. I understand a lot of what I need to change, but have been unable to make significant progress.

I'm on day 2 with mine, just messing with it in the back yard right now. I can already tell a difference. I've never hit my SW so flush or consistent. It's a perfect 30 yard pitch 90% of the time. The feeling after I take the belt off stays for the next 10-15 minutes. Like others have said its hard to explain, but it does.
